Miley on Provocative Pics: 'I'm So Embarrassed'

cyrus0429.jpg

In a statement released to People magazine, singer Miley Cyrus apologized for several playfully provocative photos that surfaced last week, as well as photos from a recent Vanity Fair shoot.

"My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy," Cryus tells People. "For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed."

In the Vanity Fair pictures, Cyrus is allegedly wearing clothes, but she is posed in a way that makes her appear topless.

"The pictures of me on the Internet were silly, inappropriate shots," Miley says in the statement. "I appreciate all the support of my fans, and hope they understand that along the way I am going to make mistakes and I am not perfect. I never intended for any of this to happen and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed anyone."

Let’s be honest, if this weren’t in the news, most of her fans (teens or younger) wouldn’t even see it. Do we really think they read Vanity Fair or even know that’s the name of a magazine. The photos are fine, leave the poor kid alone.

It’s just a photo and nothing is showing. It’s ART people. Wake the heck up. There are naked baby butts flashing on pamper commercials for crying out loud. This world thinks of nothing but perversion and it’s so pathetic!
Get a life america and stop panicking about your inner insecurities. Art is art and needs to be viewed at as such.
My hat’s off to Mylie for keeping art going.
In addition, if you have not seen a naked body at this point in your life, then go back to your pughs and say a couple more hail marys because you’re a lying bigot.

I have no problem with these photos. Photography is an art form and these are taken in a very tasteful way. There is nothing provocative about them. They are quite beautiful in my opinion.

Leave Miley alone! She is showing no clevage or anything vulgar! Its her back for goodness sakes. There are more tragic things in the world than being so upset that Mileys back is showing in a photo!! get a life!

I think that you guys are blowing this WAY out of perportion! If you keep this up she may turn into another Brittany Spears! Just leave it be! this is no big deal… it is natural and artistic, she is still a good kid so leave her alone.

I think Americans have reached an ultimate high in turning the littlest things into a perversion. The picture was elegant. She wasn’t bold faced naked doing playboy poses was she? If this photo is perverted you might as well say the painting of Venus is perverted. People need to think of more important things in todays society instead of what actors/actresses are doing in their free time.

omg ppl are blowing this way out of proportion. Its just a photo and its not bad at all. Its extremely stupid that there making such a big deal out of it. I guess people are just getting bored cuz they’re running out of crap to say about ppl. She’s probobly one of the few who is a good person so why cant they just leave well enough alone!?

Lets face it, she is 15 and is still naive as to how the tabloids and even some reputable magazines work. Vanity knew exactly what they wanted, and that was to sell magazines. Who could deny Annie’s request for a shot that she believes is in the best interest of the person? I believe the adults on the set (her father was not there when that shot was taken) should have intervened on Mileys behalf and stopped it right there in its track. Sure Annie would say “artistic”, she cant say it was for greed or her own public recognition.

Sure Miley could have known better but the pressure was there and no one stopped her. Shame on the adults.

The picture of her being topless might have gone a little far for her being 15, but it’s not like she was completely nude. The photos taken with her father were in no way “provocative”. I think they’re blowing it way out of proportion.

I think that miley Cyrus is not a good role model… She is a stuckup brat and i think she should give her money to a charity or to somebody who needs it. When u have alot of money like that then sooner of later your buying drugs and alcohol. You all act like shes a good person and she may make mistakes but those small mistakes are going to lead her to world full of misery and in about a year shes going to be exactly like BRITNEY SPEARS..Shes a dadies gurl and is only in this busness for one thing and thats Attention and yuo could totally tell by the “IDOL GIVES BACK” she was such a drama queen and took all of the glory and the attention. I hate to be like this but its true and you’ll all see in a couple of weeks/months.

Gracias

i think it’s terrible this so called role model for the young little girls decides to go toplesson in a magazine.my daughter loves the teen idol however my baby is only 8yrs old and if we was’nt monitoring this whole thing this teenage little diva stripper can have anyones baby following her because they think she’s cool an hip.i will not let my girls continue to watch her she’s trash with money one more trailor park trash with millions, and if she was a black american disney would have taken her off the air yesterday and white america would have been calling for her head also, just another white mistake i know just say sorry and we’ll forgive you cause your white and that makes it alright.institutionalized racizm and that’s a fact!

My name is Eva and I am 12 years old. Miley is an amazing girl and I honestly think she deserves a 2nd chance. Yes, The photo is a little provacative BUT she is still young, like me. I think this photo was taken in the wrong way, yet another part of me says she is to young for these kinda photos. With permission of her parents she thought that this was okay to do. She had no way to know how her public would react.

I think people are very sick minded about everything. You can see her back in the picture. Big $%#@& deal. If she was on a beach in a bathing suit you would see the same thing. Get your minds out of the gutter people!

YES! I think Miley went too far! She’s 15 years old for crying out loud! She should know that these things would be misinterpreted easily! ” I think it was pretty!” give me a break Miley! You’re half naked on the cover of vanity fair magazine!i wouldnt be surprised if you become the next Britney Spears ! SO WHAT IF YOUR PARENTS WERE THERE! DONT BE SOO NAIVE! U SHOULD KNOW BETTER! And about that pic with yor dad. let me repeat. YOUR DAD!!! That was not appropriate at all! You were my role model Miley, just like Vanessa Ann Hudgens. But i guess that went down the drain too.

I think the photos (athough I have not seen all of them), were probably fine and done in good taste as an artistic expression. I also trust that Miley was supervised by her guardians (Mother and Father). However, (here comes the problem)I think the way that Vanity Fair has chosen to publicize the photo shoot is unfortunate. The Cyruss family (as well as the Disney Corp.) has been very careful to market Miley properly and to protect her from the pitfalls of fame and fortune at such a young age. With so many young starletts losing their grip on reality

Best Wishes to all of you!
