Michael Johns vs. Ryan Seacrest

"American Idol" fans are still reeling over what may have been one of the most jaw-dropping eliminations in "Idol" history - when Michael Johns got the boot.

Now "Extra" is sitting down with the Aussie rocker for a candid look at his heartbreaking goodbye -- and the controversial moment when Ryan gave him false hope.

Please put on extra more about Micheal Johns, what he’s up to and if he got that record deal yet? Alot of us miss him and still can’t believe he got voted off the show is boring without him. I’d also love to hear more of that “Vision of Love” it sounded awesome but way to short. We love you Micheal can’t wait to hear you CD when it comes out. Good luck! A BIG FAN

American Idol has become a joke! What they did to Michael Johns was low down and dirty. He should not have been sent home on AIGB week. Nigel needs to remember that the reason American Idol is so popular is because of the fans. Speaking as a former American Idol fan I can tell you that this was totally uncalled for. Evidently Nigel thought that the show needed better ratings and more publicity. “Shame on you Nigel you knew better”. American Idol should be renamed to Mean Idol. I know that I will no longer watch American Idol this season and I doubt that I will watch it next season either. I know that I am not the only one that feels this way. Nigel needs to come down off of that high horse that he has been riding for so long.

Any chance of putting more of Michael singing “Vision of Love” than the 3 seconds that are in this video clip? We got robbed of seeing it on tonight’s (boring) show!!!

Every week, seacrust gives me another reason to cringe. You know he LOVED giving that little dig to Michael Johns (jealous much?)Why, oh, why, does he still have so much work? He’s like the best symbol for what’s phony and rude about h’wood personalities. Wait - I think I answered my own question. Thank goodness for fast forward!!

Please do not crucify Ryan Seacrest that is his job what he says is written for him. Lets not forget the public is the one that voted him out unless American Idol is fixed we would never know. I agree that Michael Johns shouln’t have been eliminated it was the viewers fault.

Great point, Elizabeth, about the show promoting Christianity or at least giving it a “Shout Out” lol with “Shout to the Lord” — and then being so hypocritical in treating an undeserving and great guy and singer, Michael Johns, a cruel send-off. Totally uncalled for and I encourage anyone who cares about the show and their ethics to write to them or post at the website. That’s the only way they will think twice about their actions. And thank you to “a fan” who wrote that she/he will be voting more for David Cook! He is my favorite and FYI, everyone, his brother, Adam, a lawyer who has brain and spinal cancer and is quite an inspiration, is flying with his wife to see the show this week! I’m sure they will mention it or show him in the audience. Very touching. I hope tomorrow night will be a very special and respectful night and I hope David Cook sings wonderfully for the special occasion.

since the moment Kristy got a place instead of Asiah, i din´t like her anymore, i think asiah, david H., Ramiele, and mostly Jhon and the others have so much more than her. She shouldn´t be there since the begining.

I hope for the best to Jhon

Elizabeth needs to educate herself on the difference between race and nationality. Michael Johns is a caucasian male and has not likely experienced any type of racism in his life. If he has been discriminated against because of his Aussie nationality, that’s a different story but I doubt being Australian had much to do with getting the boot.

I most definately agree with Elizabeth and find it refreshing for someone in the USA to see what the rest of the World is seeing. If you go to the American Idol website , you can read for yourself the obvious racism directed at Michael Ramile and Carly. Ryan Seacrest should be sacked, American Idol is broadcast world wide and its been an eye opener for many Internationals including myself in Australia. Michael will do well despite his sad encounter with American Idol. America seems to me to be the land of Nightmares

Michael is a very talented performer. Do I think he culd have won? YES in any country other than America. Racism is a hard thing for anyone to overcome and I feel Racism was proven with his elimination and Ramille’s the week before. Comments that World is reading on the American Idol website proclaim Carly is next..because she was not born in the USA.
Ryan Seacrests comments were tacky and tasteless in the extreme. His supposed apology on Radio was NO apology at all..
For a show that has been pushing Christianity this year the whole episode was a disgrace. Ryan’s employment should be terminated. I know many many who will never watch the show again

Michael Johns will be fine. He is so good. He might actually do better without the American Idol title. I thought he would make it to the top 5 for sure, but did not expect him to win. We will surely see more of Michael Johns, but the next few weeks will not be the same without him. Oh well, will have to put even more votes towards my ultimate fav David Cook. I hope the best for both of them, because I’d buy both their cds tomorrow!
