'Idol' Gets Aussie Love

0410johns.jpg

"American Idol" sent him packing, but Aussie singer Michael Johns is a winner in the eyes of his famous fans -- Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban! The couple had some words of encouragement for the hunky Idol the night before his surprising elimination.

At a party held for "Idol" contestants at media mogul Rupert Murdoch's home, Johns received well wishes from his unexpected fans. "I didn't even get in the front door and Mrs. Murdoch relayed a message for me from Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, saying I was their favorite in the show and they watched every week," Johns said yesterday.

Even Murdoch himself gave the aspiring singer words of encouragement. "Rupert came up to me and said, 'Come on, Michael. You did a hell of a job,'" says Johns, describing the whole thing as "surreal." The 29-year-old still has plans to record an album, and is hoping to visit his home in Australia in October, after the U.S. "Idol" tour.

I am still bummed that you’re not on the show. Your an exceptionally awesome talent. As I was watching to days show it just didn’t seem the same. I’m here in Canada and as you know we have Canadian Idol here. We have lot’s of raw talent here and when I mean raw it’s more about the music rather than how high of a note you can sing or how cute and adorable you are. Popularity is not a key but talent, passion, and what music stands for is what we Canadians look for. You Michael have raw talent. I don’t even have to wish you all the best because you are already set. You’re an amazing individual and your gonna do awesome in the days, weeks, month, and years ahead.

I will buy your CD Micheal Johns when it comes out . And I would attend a concert you were performing in. I am also a Daughtry fan and love Bo Bisson.
I have many musical genres I listen too, even musicals. One of my faves, Chicago and Moulin Rouge.
When I need some space and bring it down a notch kinda music, I wanna put in a Brooke White CD. So sign this girl…….What a talent.

I think this years Idol is great. I enjoy Randy,Paula and Simon even more. They really came up with great contestants thid year. Maybe the astronomy buffs should watch American Idol, because they are finding ALL the New Stars.
I vote every week, for the awsome, sweet, talented (and will never go to the Dark Side with Simon Cowell) BROOKE WHITE. She is a great role model for our young people and the older crowd loves her too. You go Brooke!!!!!!!!

Michael, I voted for you many, many times last week and was o disappointed that America got it WRONG again! Last year was Chris D. I am 60 years old and would buy your CD in a minute. You remind me of th 60’s bands I loved to listen to in my youth. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and go out there and WOW everyone!!!!

Michael Johns is great- he has it all. The “wow” factor, as they say. Very good looking, great voice, sweet guy, polite- in no way should he have been booted off Idol.. We have like him since the auditions.! He will get a contract-I have faith in that!. JS

Michael DID do a hell of a job. I don’t know what America was thinking. What he deserves is for 19 to offer him a record deal now with massive promotion and advertising. Like Chris Daughtry before him, he could end up more successful than the eventual winner.
