Swayze’s Career Not on Hold

Patrick Swayze, 55, is bravely forging ahead with his projects, in the face of news of his pancreatic cancer. A&E announced that "The Beast," a pilot Patrick began shooting in December, is still under consideration as a series, according to Hollywood Reporter. A&E says the show, in which Patrick plays an unconventional FBI agent, could be "one of the new drama series on the network."

A rep for Swayze said that the star would continue his normal schedule, despite the diagnosis. If the series gets the green light, fans can expect to see Patrick on the small screen, and he’s also got a movie set for release later this year; "Powder Blue," starring Jessica Biel and Oscar winner Forest Whitaker.

His physician said he has a "very limited amount of disease and appears to be responding well to treatment." The National Cancer Institute estimates that pancreatic cancer takes nearly 35,000 lives a year in the U.S. -- and only five percent of patients survive beyond five years after diagnosis.

Hang in there Patrick. This will only make you stronger and your relationship with your wife and family stronger. My husband went through a medical situation last March 1st. He had a 9.2cm, softball size anyurizm in his abdomen. It bursted before he got to the surgery room. His success was only 5%. My faith and trust in the Lord upstairs, he is still with me. He made it!!! There have been the ups and downs the past year, but we take one day at a time and enjoy the time that we do have together.
God Bless and keep the Faith!!

Patrick,
Ann Jillian was filled with terror when she discovered she had cancer. She read the words of St Francis de Sales:
The same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you tomorrow and ever day. Either He will shield you or He will give you strength to bear it. Be at peace, then and put aside all anxous thoughts and imaginings.
Jillian said up to that point everyting was turbulent. then I released everything into God’s hand. God thirsts to help.

I saw you and your wife dance together and it was the most beautiful and tender moment I’ve ever seen by two people in my life. The look you gave each other was pure love. There are special secrets, only the two of you share that no one else knows…..that is the magic, the love and the strength that will get you thru all you are to face. Hold each other forever and never forget what you have shared all these years.

Hey Patrick, I gratuated from Bellaire High. I remember Waltrip well. When I heard of your challenge I felt a sense of compassion for a family member. Becoming a successful moviestar requires a persistence, fortitude and beieve that few have. You did it, so use that same persistence, fortitude, and belief to succeed over this challenge. I beieve you can do it. Now do it.

I’ve always admired you…Please fight this thing for so many of us. The first time I’d heard of this was when my Dad was diagnosed with it. I admired him, also. He was one of my best friends. I know you don’t know me but, myself along with so many others, love you more than you could ever imagine. “Ghost” was one of the best love stories ever told!

I just want to let Mr.Swayze know that ever since I saw him in Dirty Dancing he has been a hero of mine. I have sen everything he has been in since. I just found out about him having cancer and I can’t stop crying. I don’t know what this world would be like without him and I do hope he makes it through this. I wish him all the luck in his new battle and I just wanted to let him know I will be thinking of him every moment of every day hoping I don’t find out he has…but he won’t. I wish you all the best and good luck, it’s going to be hard.
Much Love,
Stacey Cochran
