Silda Spitzer Stands by Her Man

The political wives just can’t catch a break! First it was Hillary Clinton, then Dina McGreevey, then Cindy McCain had to dispel rumors of John’s alleged affair, and now New York Governor Eliot Spitzer’s wife Silda is standing by her man after news of a sensational prostitution scandal that has rocked the statehouse.

Silda Wall Spitzer has a Harvard law degree but left her career to raise her three daughters with the now disgraced governor, and to chair the non-profit Children for Children. She stood stoically at her husband’s side during a news conference where he apologized for his reported involvement in the call girl sex ring. Mrs. Spitzer watched quietly as her husband said, “I have acted in a way that violates my obligations to my family and violates my – or any – sense of right and wrong. I apologize to the public who I promised better.” Spitzer didn’t specify exactly what he was apologizing for, and reporters continued yelling questions about whether or not he plans to remain in office.

The scandal echoed the travails of gubernatorial spouse Dina McGreevey, whose husband Jim resigned as governor of New Jersey after word of a gay affair. Dina told CNN that being in the eye of the media doesn’t help the already humiliating situation the Spitzer’s have been faced with, saying, “She's ridiculed and shamed in front of virtually the entire world. She’s not only dealing with her own personal pain but trying to protect her daughters from this.” McGreevey said the quickest way to spare the upcoming pain and embarrassment would be for Eliot to immediately resigning his governorship.

Governor Spitzer was nabbed in a wiretap investigation. He’s alleged to have paid a prostitute to take a train from New York to Washington, spawning a federal investigation because of the crossing of state lines, reports the AP. An anonymous source revealed that Spitzer was caught “moving large amounts of cash from several bank accounts to one that is operated by a call-girl ring.”

You can bet she has a voice. She was just doing the Good Ole Boy Club. Being the good tolerant spouse. She must be very sad knowing her husbands soul will burn in hell. I pray for her & her children that they can find forgiveness and somehow be stronger in character.
Remember get out and vote

Has everyone in America forgotten that Hillary Clinton did this exact same thing with her husband Bill and Monica and Paula Jones and maybe others?
Why was she never critized for “standing by her man” when Bill repeatedly cheated on her.

Staying with him doesn’t have anything at all to do with “for better of for worse”…even the Bible allows divorce in the case of infidelity. But prostitutes, yikes! No, she should not stay with him. She would then be teaching three young women that it is okay to stay with a man who treats both his wife and the prostitutes with no respect or thoughtfulness…the night before Valentine’s Day at that. I hope she leaves him, she deserves a man who will be committed to her, and who shows love in action.

I would bet that Mrs. Spitzer was convinced by her husband and/or his aids to stand by her man in an attempt to save his political career. I would further bet that when it becomes obvious that his political career is over, the marriage will be over too.

“Eliot Spitzer, and An Unbelievable Example of Life-Irony”

Am I the only person who has discovered these facts as yet?

Take a look for yourselves!

In the March/April 2008 issue of the publication of “DEPARTURES” magazine, highlighted in the featured “BLACK BOOK” section of the issue on “page 102” is an article boasting the “BREAKFAST of CHAMPIONS”, that is served daily at the “FOUR SEASONS HOTEL, NYC”.

If you look carefully at the bottom-right corner there you will see (pictured first, and prominently next to Al Sharpton) NY State’s embattled Gov. Eliot Spitzer as a “REGULAR CONSUMER” of the delights of the hotels power breakfast crowd.

Folks, at the very least the coincidental metaphoric ironies in the magazine feature, as paralleled along side the allegations against this guy are gold baby!

Without judgments, but assessing statements from his news conference on Monday, March 13, and the allegations—- one could begin to wonder about what delights so prompted the married gubernatorial-potentate to frequent “the morning meal” at a midtown landmark so much so as to be worthy of media recognition, and if he was frequently having his breakfast there—- where was he having his dinners?

Hillary’s got to be freaking right about now considering the proximity of this guy to Big Willie….

She has 3 daughters to set an example for. I don’t know why she was even by his side when he made the public announcement. She is a HUMAN BEING… and should look out for her own self interest…who cares what the media, press or any one else thinks. She stood by her husband and lived up to her vows, let him deal with the consequences of breaking those vows, on his own. She needs to leave him now.

She’s right to “stand by him”. With their perosnal life in shambles right now, leaving would not be great for Silda or her children. If they do split, surely you don’t want the media up in your face watching as you’re ending a 20-year relationship; to knit-pick at all your imperfections. It’s private. Spitzer can help it resgining immediately.
