Four More ‘Idols’ Out the Door

More than 36 million viewers voted for their favorite "American Idol" contestants last night -– and Luke Menard, Kady Malloy, Asia’h Epperson and Danny Noriega were all given the weepy boot. Noriega, this year’s sassy Sanjaya, cried under his bangs as he left the stage, but it came as no surprise since his singing wasn’t nearly as strong as his attitude.

Included in the top twelve are three powerhouse Davids – Cook, Archuleta and ex-stripper Hernandez, whose racy photos have been popping up all over the web. Then there’s Carly Smithson and wild-haired rocker Amanda Overmyer, who’ve also had their share of controversy. Producers learned early on that Carly had previously recorded an album, and Amanda was arrested for DUI in 2006. Nonetheless, the show gave the girls the go-ahead to compete, and they’ll sing against the other hopefuls next week.

The final 12 singers are: David Archuleta, Jason Castro, David Cook, Kristy Lee Cook, Chikezie Eze, David Hernandez, Michael Johns, Ramiele Malubay, Syesha Mercado, Amanda Overmyer, Carly Smithson and Brooke White.

I loved Danny Noriega! America was so wrong to vote him off. And his voice was awesome.

Danny Noriega had to go. I can handle any gay but dang, he was way over the top. He may have been a little fruity naturally, but he sure added a lot of flaming to it which made him unbearable to watch!!! My advise to him is quit the show and try to act normal, gay or not!! Digusted by him!

America made the right call!! This is probably the best, most exciting Top 12 ever!! So many different musical styles, personalities, personal styles, and even some international flavor. And not one bad singer in the bunch. I can’t wait to hear all of them sing Beatles songs next Tuesday, and to see them all in the first Ford Music Video of the season on Wednesday. If only there would be a finalists CD like there used to be.
