Woman Wrecks Her Marriage On RealiTV

Has reality television gone too far? On yesterday’s episode of “Moment of Truth,” millions witnessed a marriage go up in real TV flames when a woman told her husband she’d leave him if her ex-lover wanted to start things up again. Even host Mark L. Walberg was stunned when the lie detector confirmed the truth -- and the rest is relationship history.

“Extra” tracked down Lauren Cler, the woman at the center of the lie detector controversy, who wasn’t answering any questions. “No, I can’t talk to you,” she told our cameras. Lauren did talk to the New York Post, however, after losing, a $250 thousand jackpot, her dignity … and perhaps her husband.

The Post’s headline screamed, “I Did It for the TV Money,” and her MySpace page reads, “Lauren is in Recovery.” Her mood: Sick. Lauren is now in seclusion after revealing she not only cheated on her hubby, but that she also believes she’s meant to be married to her boyfriend -- according to the lie detector, of course.

Outside her house, NYPD officers are keeping the media at bay, and Lauren has reportedly told the press that she wants to try and work it out with her husband. No lie!

I like this show, yes, it is very brutal. But the people who go on this show, are very greedy and willing to risk it all for a half a mill. To be honest, I believe relationships and my self dignity are waaay more important than money, so I’d choose to never go on the show. Plus, half a mill. really isn’t enough money offered, considering the outcome, but obviously these people are hurtin’, lol. It is their choice to go on this show, not the smartest decision, but it’s what they want to do. I think these people are just greedly that go on this show, so let them get singled out, maybe they’ll learn that there are other things in life way more important than money. Once they lose their relationships, maybe they’ll change their ways. You don’t realize what you got til it’s gone.

THE HUSBAND SHOULD JUST LET HER GO. LAUREN ALREADY REVEALED TO THE WHOLE WORLD THAT SHE’S NOT HAPPY W/ HIM. SO WHY WOULD SHE STILL SACRIFICE AND SUFFER? NOW THAT SHE ALREADY EXPRESSED HER TRUE FEELINGS, SET HER FREE & FIND HER OWN HAPPINESS. NO ONE DESERVES TO BE UNHAPPY JUST BECAUSE SHE IS TIED UP W/ A MARRIAGE? CONSIDER A DIVORCE!

I sometimes wonder if this was planned by the woman and her current husband. I think they wanted to go their separate ways but had debt and decided to do this so they could pay off their debt and then go their separate ways. I just cant see a sane person doing this. And besides, the husband didnt seem as shocked and even hugged her after it was over. She knew the questions as she’d been asked before and yet she chose to continue. She wanted this.

IT SEEMED SCRIPTED. IT SEEMS LIKE THEY ALREADY KNEW THAT SOMEONE WAS GOING TO HIT THE BUTTON, SO THEY PREPARED ANOTHER QUESTION W/C WAS VERY SIMILAR TO THE GIVEN QUESTION. WE’RE NOT THAT STUPID!

IF THE NEXT SHOW WON’T BE AS HOT AS THE LATEST, THEN PEOPLE WILL NEVER WATCH AGAIN! SO THEY HAVE TO HAVE SOMEONE AS CRAZY OR WAY OVER THE TOP TO MAINTAIN OR EVEN GET A HIGHER RATING!

THE GIRL (LAUREN) CREATED THE SHOW. WITHOUT HER, FOX WOULD STILL BE STRUGGLING TO MAKE THE RATINGS. THE GIRL DESERVES MILLIONS OF DOLLARS BECAUSE SHE DID THEM A GREAT FAVOR. THEY SHOULD PAY HER, IF NOT, THEN SHAME ON YOU - FOX. YOU JUST USED HER FOR FREE. YOU PEOPLE HAVE NO SOUL!

WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU HYPOCRITES. MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD CHEAT, BUT THEY PRETEND TO BE THE SAINTS. I GIVE THIS GIRL ALL THE CREDIT IN THIS WORLD BECAUSE SHE HAD ALL THE GUTS TO EXPRESS HER TRUE FEELINGS IN THE WHOLE WORLD. SHE’S THE BRAVEST WOMAN I HAD EVER SEEN. LONG LIVE GIRL!!!!!!!

I CAN’T BLAME HER FALLING IN LOVE WITH HER EX BECAUSE SHE DESERVES A WAY WAY BETTER LOOKING “MAN” THAN THIS “BOYISH” & NAIVE-LOOKING HUSBAND. C’MON, SHE IS OBVIOUSLY A VERY SEXY & HOT LOOKING WOMAN AND HER BEAUTY MATCHES BETTER WITH THE EX. WAKE UP AMERICA! WHY CAN’T YOU JUST OPEN YOUR EYES AND YOUR HEART AND GIVE THIS BRAVE & WONDERFUL WOMAN A BIG BREAK. HER PARENTS SHOULD BE MORE PROUD OF HER!

I totally agree with the post which stated we have many, more important things to worry about. However; this program made “Springer” seem tame. It was one of the most mean- spirited things, both in real life, and TV which I have ever seen. I wonder if all the questions were in hand BEFORE the show. Based on all the woman’s answers up to the last one,(which she failed)) there was a better than even chance she did not have an authetic self and would believe she truly was “happy.” No husband or partner should be subjected to such humiliation before the public, even if they are willing to be. I seriously hope the woman is on suicide watch. It would not surprise me if she made an attempt. I’m glad they don’t have kids who had to go to school the next day.

America feeds off of this crap. This show, along with TMZ, Extra, Access Hollywood, and shows of that nature will thrive on as long as people continue to tune in. The show’s producers are not at fault here. It’s like blaming a gun for killing someone instead of the shooter. It’s nice how this stuff is called “news” and we have our soldiers being killed every day and THAT doesn’t seem to be the “water cooler topic of the day”!!!

Get a life people and stop giving this ditz her 15 minutes of fame!!

What’s the big deal? This lie detector-getting-cold-busted-nonsense has done for years on Maury. Putting it out there during primetime viewing doesnt make it any more appalling than it is.

it appears to me she wanted to win as much money as she could so she could split from her husband and take off with this ex-boyfriend she has…SURPRISE..the one question she should have gotten right she didnt..”do you consider yourself a good person”..her life is motivated by money as shown by her history of stealing and cheating…she has probably lost both her poor husband and now probably this boyfriend that couldnt commit to her in the first place and probably won’t now as he will probably feel some kind of heat in this and want to distance himself as well..the show is not to blame for her responses, her greed is

This show is not going to last long. People do not want to see marriages break up because of money. I don’t blame the show at all, she knew what she was getting into. I think she wanted to end her marriage anyway. Yes, she made some mistakes but for god sakes she should not have aired those mistakes in front of millions of people. I remember the old “Newlywed Game”., now those questions were innocent. That’s when we had good clean tv shows. Now tv stations just want to make a buck. They say “money is the root of all evil”, I believe that with all my heart.

Everyone is blaming the show for the questions…how about blaming the woman for her deplorable actions. I say good for her (I can only imagine) soon-to-be ex-husband. He found out what an awful person he was married to. Unfortunately, the country had to watch, but maybe in the end it will be a blessing in disguise. He will find someone who will treat him right!

Here’s the question that people should be asking: If somebody crossed the line, was it the show or the contestant? Who is the one who did wrong here? Was it the wife for cheating on her husband, or was it the show for giving her the opportunity to confess to the horrible thing that she did?

How can anybody with any sort of moral fibre consider telling the truth to be horrible? How can any sane person accuse this show of ruining a marriage. It seems to me that the contestant ruined her own marriage. She pledged her heart at God’s alter to a man who was not the only love of her life, and then cheated on him. And the host and producers of this show did what wrong, exactly? Asked her to come clean about it. I could see the problem if they had offered her money to cheat on her husband, but she did that free of charge.

If this woman was truly in love with her husband, or had been loyal to her husband, nobody would have a problem with the question being asked. The issue here is not the question, but the answer, and whose fault is that?

I don’t see that Moment of Truth did anything wrong. The people know when they go on that they are going to asked hard questions. Also she could have stopped at any time because she knew what kind of questions was on the show. She made the choice of going on so that’s her own problem. That’s the whole point of the show it to tell the truth about hard question if you don’t want to tell then don’t go on the show.
