Who Gets Leno's Jokes?

Two years before Jay Leno is even contractually able to negotiate his future, the big studios are already positioning themselves to snag the chinsome host, with staggering millions on the table. It’s nice to be wanted!

Both ABC and Fox have intimated that they’re interested, but NBC may want to keep Leno for other purposes -- when Conan takes over in 2009. There’s also buzz that Leno may stay behind the desk – but that would cost NBC a $45 million penalty payable to O’Brien.

The New York Times reports that Sony may fork over as much as $40 million a year for the silver fox, which would surpass Letterman’s reported $30 million annual paycheck. That’s a lotta jokes!

Let’s email NBC executives to tell them they are making a big mistake in in replacing Jay Leno on the Tonight Show with Conan. Jay will just go to the Fox network and continue to be a big hit on late night TV.

As a stand-up comedian myself, I can’t dream of Jay Leno leaving The Tonight Show. He was the best replacement for Johnny Carson and he is just as lovable and likeable as Johnny and always makes me laugh and not many people do.

Congrats Jay Leno
I watch him all the time because he is on regular TV. He is very funny and does a great job hosting The Tonight Show. My problem with all of these high payed celebraties is, they continue to raise the price of cable. Cable TV is now more exspensive than my utilities by far. I can no longer afford cable to watch the shows I want. I really hope they all make so much that they price them selves right out of the market. As long as the people of this country are foolish enough to pay there unreasonable prices, I hope they all make 100 million a year. People wounder why there is so much stress in this country. There wages go up 10 fold, as ours stays the same. Keep pounding the working guys and gals of this country and maybe they will smarten up and drop there cable until prices come down to a reasonable rate.

What is wrong with this picture? Myself a middle class famly of 4 with an income of $38,000.00 can’t make ends meet. We wonder why americans are so depressed. Are they worth it, and do they believe there worth it. I LOVE Jay, Dave and Conand. But after reading this about all the money being thrown around it’s so sad and not FUNNY at all. I can’t afford my 16 year old son video games like his friends or a computer for his homework But all that miney is involved. Congrats Jay I wish you well in whatever you decide to do.
