Turban Trouble for Barack

Hot on the high heels of John McCain's alleged sex scandal, presidential candidate Barack Obama is at the center of a new political firestorm after being photographed wearing a turban. It's just the latest salvo in the year of smear, and now fingers are pointing to Hillary Clinton for the alleged leak of the curious pic. Clinton's camp denies it leaked the photo.

Now many are wondering if Obama's main supporter - Oprah Winfrey - will weigh in on the new controversy over the candidate she helped vault to stardom. "Extra" contacted Oprah today and her reps told us she's unavailable for comment.

This season of scandal isn't stopping Hollywood from taking sides. George Clooney said he's just one of many A-listers backing Barack. "I like Hillary, and I know her very well and I like her very much. I've just never been around anything like Obama."

Tina Fey minced no words about her pick on this weekend's "Saturday Night Live," explaining, "People say Hillary is a bitch. You know what? Bitches get stuff done!" Even Ellen DeGeneres is standing in Hillary's corner. The witty TV talker dropped in on a Clinton campaign rally yesterday and tackled Hillary's critics, asking, "Do you think you're being given a harder time than Barack because you're a woman?" Hillary said, "I think it requires a person who actually can stand up to whatever comes my way."

Judging from the campaign so far - that could be anything!

Just one word can explain it “Muslim”.(remember 9-11) And can any of you supporters tell us WHAT good he has ever done. Other than give a good speech. I don’t feel he should even be able to run for president. His actions state clearly enough that he doesn’t love our country!

I can’t believe all these people on here. The man went back to the place that his father was from to seek out a better understanding of who his father was and where he came from. He placed a turbin on his head as a show of respect for the peoples of that country. America was built so that we could all practice our own religions without fear of persecution and as soon as we see something that we think is not “main stream” we want to crucify the person for it. We should be embracing him for trying to gain a better understanding of who he is and where he is or should be going. Why should he walk through life with blinders on to his past? To please you? I think not. The turbin on his head is not going to cut off the circulation to the point that he can not think while in office. Praise him for accepting the diversity of this great nation through understanding his own. He is living in reality and there is something to be said for that.

Change thats all Obama talks about? The change we need is to be smart enough not to vote for him!Look at his name?He could’nt put his hand over his heart for the pleg of allegiance. And the people of AMERICA would want him as President.WAKE UP.

The man is just tooo something. Can’t quite put my finger on it but he just doen’t do it for me. I don’t believe he is what American needs at this point in time. The fact that Oprah is backing hime should make everyone stop and ask themselves how he is going to pay her back for her support. We all know how bush payed back his supporters and we as Americans have been carrying that monkey on our backs for the last eight years. If Hillary doesn’t win the nomination there are a lot of us who will be voting for John McCain.

Either Democrat will get our bus out of the ditch.
The other side believes the landscape should to be changed, add a couple of strip malls and financial store fronts.

Of course it matters what someone is wearing to an extent. Don’t tell me that if one of the canidates were photographed wearing a pointed sheet over their head that you’re going to look the other way because they sound and look inteligent otherwise? Even outside of the sheeps clothing the wolf can be very handsome but guess what?, HE’S STILL A WOLF! But in Obama’s defense I don’t know who or what he is; only time will tell.

First off, just b/c you decide not to demean another person’s culture when visiting their country doesn’t make you a terrorist or a muslim. There were also images of Hillary in a head covering when visiting a muslim country. It’s called respect for the fact that not everyone dresses or shares the same cultural practices as we do. Further, he is one of the most innovative intelligent cadidates this country has seen since JFK…stop hatin.

Why would ANYONE vote for someone that has a name like Obama (Osama) and Hussein in their name, much less, wears a turban!!! Can you say terrorism? Hide and watch people.

I REALLY DON’T THINK THAT WHAT OBAMA IS WEARING IS A BIG DEAL , AS FAR I SEE IT ,IF WHAT HE IS WEARING TELLS WHO HE IS , THEN ALL THE THONGS AND V- STRINGS AND OTHER GARMENT WE WEARS SAY ALOT ABOUT US TOO , AND I AM SURE WE DON’T WANT PEOPLE TO JUDGE US BY WHAT WE WEAR. JUDGE HIM BY HIS INTELLENGENCE AND HIS ABILITY TO HELP MAKE AMERICAN THE GREATEST NATION ON EARTH.

If he wants to dress like a somolian then perhaps he should be running for president in THAT country, remember when we first immigrated to this country we became americans not somolians

if you look into the type dress he was wearing you’d see that it doesn’t have that much to do with religion. its a traditional outfit worn by nomadic people some are religious some are not. if you follow the link to the bbc website it tells you exactly what it means, and anyway so what if he was wearing a turbin it shows his open mindness there are worse things to be worried about

Why should any of us care what Oprah or any other celebrity thinks about any candidate? They don’t have any more info than we have, and I find it insulting that they think we aren’t capable of thinking and choosing for ourselves.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!!!!!!!!
Barak Hussein Obama is very secretive about his past life and his so called Christian church. His life and his wife’s should be delved into before that man might possibly get elected.

Everyone is on the bandwagon with Osama Omama. He’s no different than the other lousy candidates. He’ll make this country worse than it already is. Beware of charismatic personalities! Adolf Hitler was a motivating speaker and charismatic leader and we see where he got the Germans. Not to mention what he did to those he hated because of their religion or ethnicity.

Is it just me or is it that Obama sounds more like a preacher than a politician. Just because certain celebrities back him does not mean that he will make a good president for us or that this should influence our votes. Hillary Clinton has much more experience and also McCain. What’s with Obama’s wife commenting that for the first time she is proud of our country. I for one have been proud of our country many more times over than that. Another comment by her is I have a hole in my soul. WHAT. Wake up Americans and look deeper into this Obama campaign. HE WILL DEFINITELY NOT LEAD US IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

Oh good grief… come on… who really cares if he wore a turban? does that change his organized crime associations or Hillary’s abject socialist agenda? NO…

There is not one decent candidate in this race and anyone who says different is compromising somewhere along the line.

So much for an enlightened electorate…
