To be the top you have to be marketable and I am sorry but he is just not marketable as shown through his record sales. The reason Kelly Clarkson, Chris and Carrie have done so well is because not only are they talented individuals but they have a certain polish and presence about them that others lack. I completely agree with Simon if you focus soley on the voice then we would have hundreds of great idols instead you focus on the voice, the charisma, and the presence aka the entire package…Can they deliver sales, attract a wide audience and stay memorable? Artists who have stayed successful for so long know the importance of maintaining the entire package:) Personally I believe people attack Simon because they can’t handle the truth. Paula and Randy tend to sugar coat it where as Simon tells it like it is and that is real show business! Try and look at his perspective before closing your mind to a different opinion.

I’m sure if that kid sang on the live shows, Simon would be the first judge to start kicking him to the curb. Then there’s David Hernandez, obviously talented, who he says no to. I’m just glad “Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum” were there because I dread to think what the line up would be had he been the one to choose the top 24.

On 13 Feb 2008, what a joke wrote: Simon is a joke. Taylor Hicks has the whole package. It takes more than just singing. You have to entertain also. I have listened to a lot of great singer and have been very bored with the preformance. Taylor Hicks is the best live preformer I have seen in a long time. He is a person who can take a song and make it his own. I think Simon could take a few lessons from Hicks in the personality department.

Why would people vote for someone they didn’t like. Like = popular. It is all about popularity with the talent to back it up. Sometimes when Simon speaks it makes you cringe at his lack of intelligence. He double talks a trait for people who have nothing intelligent to say.
