Kanye Stops Grammys For Mom

There was no stopping Kanye West from carrying out an emotional Grammy tribute to his mom Donda last night.

During his acceptance speech for "Best New Album," Kanye began to dedicate his trophy to his mother, who he lost after she suffered complications from surgery. But music soon began to play, signaling him to leave the stage.

"It would be in good taste to stop the music now,” Kanye said without missing a beat.

The music quickly halted. He continued, "I know you're really proud of me right now, and I know you wouldn't want me to stop ... and mama, all I want to do is keep making you proud."

The rap star, who had been avoiding the spotlight since Donda's death in November, picked up four Grammy wins, including Best Rap Solo Performance for “Stronger," and Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group for "Southside."

In an emotional tribute performance, Kanye sang his hit song “Stronger,” then segued into a special version of “Hey Mama." The moving delivery brought the Grammy crowd to its feet.

That attitude is built on in from way back. Of course it is the saddest thing to lose your mom, who’s usually your biggest fan (I’m sure she constantly pumped up his ego)Sadder still is the fact that her death was preventable. Maybe the best leasson kan will learn is to heed your doctor’s advice, and not let your vanity guide you.

the attitude at the MTV awards - yea.. that was a bit much, but the man’s mother died. and thats right YOU DONT KNOW what it feels like to LOOSE a parent. It’s rough and I would have had to say something too… “i do not like his attitude” thats nice. no one cares though!

I am sorry for the lost of his mother. I know that they were very close and although I cannot understand the lost of a parent as of yet I do not like his attitude at all. I think Kanye needs a reality check. He acts like the world owes him something. His tantrum after the MTV awards (I belive) etc. get a grip dude. there are other musicians who have done more than you and don’t act like a 2 year old.
