Heath Ledger's family and friends said their final goodbyes this weekend in an emotional seaside ceremony.
Hundreds of guests gathered in his hometown of Perth, Australia to remember the star. Cate Blanchett, a fellow Australian and his co-star in "I'm Not There," delivered the eulogy.
After the service, ten family members attended a private funeral at Freemantle Cemetery at the request of Heath's father Kim. Heath’s body was then cremated.
Michelle Williams, the mother of his two-year-old daughter Matilda, was visibly shaken. Throughout the service, she grasped Heath's sister Kate by the arm.
Mourners then gathered at Cottlesoe Beach to watch the sunset, where Michelle and others ran fully-clothed into the ocean for one last goodbye. As the sun set, a circle of swimmers made a protective circle around Michelle.

I think that this was a wonderful way for Michelle and Heath’s family to say their goodbye to Heath. I can’t help but feel for Michelle who now has to raise their beautiful daughter without her father. But i’m sure that Michelle and Heath’s family will make sure that that little girl knows her father even though he can’t be seen anymore.
All my love to Michelle, Matilda and to Healths’ family.
