Gary Busey Surprises Jen Garner With Sloppy Kiss

A glamorous red carpet event wouldn’t be the same without at least one shocking moment.

Last night that moment was when actor Gary Busey bum rushed an interview between Ryan Seacrest and Jennifer Garner during red carpet arrivals at the Kodak Theater.

The E! TV host was talking to Jen and Oscar nominee Laura Linney when the actor came over and hugged Jen tightly before giving her a kiss on the neck.

Jen quickly composed herself and continued her interview, jokingly responding to Ryan’s next question with a question of her own, saying, "You mean were you going to ask me about getting kissed on the neck on the red carpet by this man? That was fun!"

In response to his shenanigans, Busey later told People magazine, "It’s about having fun. The idea is to suit up and show up," adding, "I have to run now, I have an early morning paper route."

Yeah. It is kind of weird she reacted the way she did. I mean was she really that scared? Did she think he was going to kill her or something? Gary is harmless.

He did not kiss her on the neck. He kissed her on the lower cheek at the jawbone. The tape clearly shows this. Jennifer Garner incorrectly stated that “this man” kissed her on the neck. He did no such thing.

Ryan Seacrest has no business interviewing Red Carpet stars. He
is awful and inexperienced. Jennifer
Garner made wayyyyyyy too much of the whole incident.

Well,at the end of the pre-show with Regis inside the theater,yu can clearly see Busey harassing Tommy Lee Jones on the side as well…This man needed to be stopped

I feel it could have been harmless had Jennifer and Ryan not acted like they are untouchable and unapproachable. Jennifer always does seem to have that aire about her even though she attemps to act so sweet and innocent. And I always thought Ryan was a professional. HE handled the situation poorly, (as did Jennifer, don’t forget she’s an actor) and then made fun of someone else. I saw it. It was not that big of a deal. Well, not for real, friendly or kind people anyway.

It was a blantant neck kiss. He came Damn close to her cheek, sometimes in uncomfortable situations, you miss.

He had no interest in her, Ryan had to bring her to his attention.

J was just uncomfortable. A lady would have given him the benefit of the doubt and not embarrased him to relieve her discomfort.

Busey barged in on an interview that had absolutely NOTHING to do with him. If anybody came out of this looking like and idiot it was him and Ryan Seacrest. Why blame Jennifer Garner? How would anyone like to be interupted in front of millions of viewers by a buffoon? His behavior was inexcusable, and for people to try and excuse his actions is laughable.

On his KIIS-FM morning show, Ryan Seacrest gave Gary Busey a chance to defend the bizarro red carpet assault that left our E! News host, Jennifer Garner and Laura Linney speechless last night.

And what did Gary have to say for himself? Um, we’re not sure. This is why he was so excited to see Ryan, so take from it what you will:

Well, what I wanted to do was when I first saw you working, I said, “Who is this guy?” And I said, “Oh God, this isn’t going to work.” And then you captured me. You are to me, when you’re working, an innocent champion of honesty. Your heart has a way to embrace the truth in your delivery without looking like you are reading a script. Everything looks spontaneous. What spontaneity is—spontaneity comes from an invisible idea that is there before the creation began. And you have that naturally, so I just wanted to pay you a compliment. But I didn’t know you were in the middle of an interview, I was just moving through there.

See, it doesn’t exactly make sense

Jennifer’s reaction was fine! A kiss on the cheek and hug would have been fine.
A kiss on the neck!! Not so much!!

That is just how Gary is. As his publicist explained today, he is Southern and that is how he generally greets people. George Clooney later approached Gary telling him he’s a big fan.

Geez, lay off Gary. Jennifer is the one who needs to lighten up.

Are you Kidding Me! You don’t bear hug and kiss someone on the neck. Why attack Jennifer Garner? Jennifer a snob?? Please! She didn’t do anything wrong. You are an idiot!

Ok, I knew the media would try and make this Gary guy look bad. I ACTUALLY SAW the interview. Ryan Seacrest was the one who asked Gary if he knew Jennifer…because Gary only greeted Laura who was with her. After Ryan asked Gary if he knew Jennifer, he said what, then looked at Jennifer for a brief moment, then gave her a hug. Gary was just be courteous. Jennifer should blame Ryan for that so-called “attack.” In fact, Ryan and Jennifer BOTH came out LOOKING VERY BAD AND SNOBBY. Jennifer and Ryan are the ones who are being criticized at many message boards, not Gary. Gary is a former Oscar nominee and has been acting before Jennifer was born, he should have been shown some type of courtesy.
