Did Grammy Organizers Pull the Plug on Michael?

It’s the 25th anniversary Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” one of the best-selling pop records of all time, so why wasn’t he in the spotlight at the Grammys?

According to the New York Post, Jackson was in fact scheduled to appear at the Grammys, but his demands were larger than their budget.

He reportedly requested that someone specially introduce him, honor him with a never-before-received award and refer to him as being The King of Pop multiple times over.

According to the story, the music board finally decided to pull the plug on his appearance after they couldn’t appease him.

MJ will always be the only king. Nobody can touch him. For the ingnorant haters out there: remember that MJ was aquitted! and in 93’ he settled the civil case because of bad legal advise. He was a sitting duck for a witch hunt. He is the biggest star the world has ever seen and the one place he doesn’t get the respect he deserves is in his home country. Haters. What a disgrace. I will never watch the Grammys again, what a joke. How do you not honor the biggest selling albulm of all time and the biggest selling artist of all time?

This BS happens every year. The Grammy’s got what they deserved; poor ratings.

(GRAMMY AWARDS(S) CBS Sun 8:00 PM 10.3/16.0 11,566,000 17,174,000)
Not even 20 million viewers!

Thier numbers will continue to drop until they (along with the music industry) promote real talent and pay Michael Jackson (not jacko) the respect he deserves and get all over the world except in the US media.

The truth is MJ does not need them; they need him!

MJIS4EVER!

This is a bunch of b*l is. They asked Michael to perform and he wasn’t prepared…at the last minute of all things! Michael wants everything perfect. No way he would have went on a stage without rehearsing anything at the last minute….They just upset he decided not to come!…besides, the show has been crappy for the past 2-3 years, and this one was no diffferent!

Hello,
Here is a guy who paid 25 million to shut a kid up and dangled his own kid from a balcony. I’d rather the grammys not turn into a pedophile display hour thanks.

Extra is always reporting tabloid junk. This is nothing but a tabloid rumor. Foxnews already reported on what happened. Geez, bad thing is, people are believing this junk.

This is a tabloid rumor to make MJ look bad. What he will do though is not perform if things with the performance is not right. MJ is a perfectionist and if things with the performance are not pefect, he will pull out. That’s why MJ has always been so successful.

“… fans that they raped basically for ratings,” LOL, so true. Except for me. As the Grammys was coming on for the West coast, it was ending on the East coast. Word immediately went out on the Internet that Michael did not attend AND that there was no tribute. Two minutes into the show, I turned the channel.

Michael Jackson earned the title “The King of Pop”.There will never be a genius entertainer like him.In respect and honor of him,the Grammy should deliver what they promised to the public. If Michael has demands,it comes with the title he will always deserved.Welcome back, great Michael!!!

Everyone knows that Michael Jackson is the King of Pop, He should’nt have wanted it to keep being repeated alot of times before he was introduced, unless Michael felt that strongly about it and maybe it’s because he’s been out of the lime-light for so long, he did’nt want people to forget that He is the King of Pop and Michael even when you are dead and gone. You will always be the King of Pop.

be sure michael never asks any one to call him the king of pop.its all made up.like when michael wanted to have an interview with oprah winfrey back in 1993 all said michael asked her to call him the king of pop,but then oprah herself told on the show that its not true but i myself call michael the king of entertainment cause king of pop is too limiting for him.this is all made up,michael never wanted to be called the king of pop.he is so humblebut by the way who can be the king of pop?of course michael jackson

I think after all he’s been through,I think the Grammy commitee should have did what he asked. The Fans wanted to see him whether or not he performs and Let people pay tribute to him for a change. The night was filled with Jackson fans and even though they did play a sample of Beat it , Thanks to Will.I.am and with Rhianna ending her song with the famous Soul Makousa line that was in Wanna Be Startin’Something, Michael was well remembered. It was ashame that the Grammy people falsely advertised Michael’s showing up and I feel that they should apologise to all The Michael Jackson fans who was in attendance that night and all the fans watching so that nextyear, their ratings will not fall to a few people watching.
Michael Jackson should be respected in the Music Industry by the heads of The Industry itself. Now we will never know when he’ll be appearing or heard again after this mishap.
Eventhough there were changes made at the Grammy camp and at Sony, when it comes to Michael Jackson,The same old game is played on him. It’s ashame that all Michael wants to do is make an honest buck and be respected and appreciated in The Whole Entertainment Industry. Please give him a break.

BS! The Grammies can say whatever they want, but I don’t believe that ish. Even if true, what was wrong with calling him the King of Pop, that is his nickname. Either way, they advertised a tribute and failed to deliver. They should have did what they initially intended to do whether Jackson attended or not, for the fans that they raped basically for ratings using Jacksons name and riding Thriller 25s coat tails. Shame on the Grammies!
