Housekeeper Heard Heath Snoring Hours Before Death

New details are emerging surrounding Heath Ledger's tragic death.

The New York Times, citing New York police officials, is reporting that Heath's housekeeper saw him sound asleep and snoring around 1 PM on Tuesday, just two hours before officials pronounced him dead.

When Heath's masseuse arrived for a scheduled appointment at 2:45 PM and he didn't answer his cell phone, she went inside his bedroom to check on him. When he wouldn't wake up, she called Mary-Kate Olsen, who is reportedly close to Heath, and Mary-Kate ordered her own security guards over to the Manhattan apartment. The masseuse called Mary-Kate twice before calling 911, according to the Times.

The masseuse then tried to revive Heath, and when emergency crews arrived, they did everything they could to save him to no avail.

Now there are reports that Heath had six prescription drugs in his room, including anti-anxiety medications and sleeping pills. No illegal drugs were found.

A preliminary autopsy report turned up inconclusive as to how he died. A full test could take 10 days to two weeks.

Today, Heath's uncles called his death "a tragic accident" on the "Early Show" and denied that Heath could have done something "irresponsible."

In November, Heath told The New York Times that he was having trouble sleeping and took the prescription drug Ambien to fall asleep.

"Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night," he said. "I couldn't stop thinking. My body was exhausted and my mind was still going."

maybe this can be a lesson to everyone that we should have updated cpr weather we are a masage therapist or house keeper or marykate !that all secons?minutes count and when we are in a situation like this we know what to do …this is an accident …not a suicide sooooooooo act fast call marykate after you have helped in this case heath and tell the story later when you can be the hero with the facts not facts trying to find a hero .. this man had a child even though he no longer was with her mother he wanted to (i’m sure play a roll in her life ) if we all remember how they the ex of heath they were in love soooooooooooooo those feelings are only two years old …and there is an adoreable baby they both loved ….. things went wrong on that faithful day no one is to blame a suicide …why are people so quick to judge …… accidents happen in this case heath paid the price so sad and why did it have to go this way if these people whom found him did cpr immediately then maybe the outcome would have been what we all wish would have been ……. note to other if we find friends famous or not do the life saving skills first instead of phoning the world to tell or to figure out what you don’t know already so, call 911 and do cpr …… prayer to his daughter …. hopefully she hears positive things about her daddy and know she is loved by him …… and that she doesn’t see the tabloids that will asume what is not what happened we will remember you in your roll brokeback mountain …. and your new movie ads the joker….. your momory will live on in all of us our hearts go out to your families and your ex wife and your baby daughter she will carry your legacy on Heath we love you ……. you will be missed !………………….. wrote by katie

i didn’t believe it when i heard it. i had to go to all the different entertainment news websites to see if it really was true. when i realized it was my first thought was his daughter and Michelle. how horrible it is for them as well as Heath’s parents and sister and other family members… even Jake! they were best friends, his death is such a shock to everyone! Everyone except a churchgroup that is planning on protesting his funeral because of a character he played in Brokeback Mountain. it’s the dumbest thing i’ve ever heard, they’re planning on protesting because his character was gay. isn’t that the stupidest thing you’ve ever heard?

Heath is and always will be my favorite actor.Reason?..cause he never let the fame get to his head and he always played the toughest & best roles. Im trying to keep up with all the info so that maybe i can make sense of this situation but i can’t. It just doesn’t make sense that you’d waste a good 30 mins trying to reach mk’s bodyguards instead of ambulances.I wanna give my condolences to his family. He will forever be in my thoughts and prayers. You will be missed!. Goodnight Heath may you rest in peace. Love you

EXTRA! I am APPALLED that your show would even consider comparing Heath Ledger to Anna Nicole!!! This is rediculous! Anna Nicole was a messed up individual who had no idea who she was, messing up the lives she came into contact with because of her selfishness. Heath Ledger was a brilliant artist who selflessly inspired those who were lucky enough to know him and change the lives of those who didn’t. I mean, really? You’re really going to compare the two because of a bottle of prescription meds that may have shared the same name? Get your facts straight before throwing such an amazing man into the same nasty water as Anna Nicole Smith. Maybe compare Anna Nicole to Britney Spears. The only difference THERE was 50 or 60 pounds give or take.

WHY! This is such a waste. Heath was such a beautiful, talented, and loved young man. I feel he had a promising career ahead of him & we have only seen the tip of the iceburg. I really can’t wrap my head around this. My prayers go out to his family, Michelle & Matilda who will not remember him. It may seem morbid be I read & watch everything I can so I can possibly make sense of something that could never make any sense. Heath; we will all miss and mourn you as a man and an actor. So Good Night sweet prince RIP. You will be remembered fondly

Why the hell would she call Mary-Kate Olsen in the first place in an emergency like that?! Wouldn’t 9-1-1 seem like the natural place to call first? I don’t get these people.

Please let this be a lesson - if there is a situation such as this, call 911 first(not a friend) it could have saved Heath’s life - there was something like a 45 minutes delay between when he was found and when help arrived - which is a life/death scenario. RIP Heath
