Hollywood in Outrage Over Alleged Heath Drug Tape

All of Hollywood is up in arms at "Entertainment Tonight" for attempting to air a video of Heath Ledger at a drug party two years ago on the Sunset Strip.

The tabloid show's sister program "The Insider" aired a preview of the video yesterday showing Heath at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood. Though the show said the video doesn't show Heath doing drugs, they ran a clip of an unidentified man snorting cocaine. The video also shows a clip, allegedly of Heath, where he says, "I used to smoke five joints a day for 20 years." He also talks about his daughter, Matilda Rose.

Now, amid outrage and disgust, the show has pulled the plug on the tape. "Out of respect for Heath Ledger's family, `Entertainment Tonight' and `The Insider' have decided not to run the Heath Ledger video that has been circulating in the world media," the show said today.

A statement from Heath's publicist, which spread like wildfire throughout Hollywood, blasted the show for "shameful exploitation of the lowest kind."

Heath still hasn't been laid to rest following his tragic death last week. Toxicology results are due in just days and could shed light on what caused his terrible passing.

The fact that ET even showed ‘clips’ of the video last night of Heath Ledger at a party, even more so that they were even planning to air it in the first place, is so appalling to me. It is embarrassing to see how the American media is treating his family. Imagine the heartbreak they are experiencing right now over his untimely death. It never ceases to amaze me how cruel people can be. Words can not express how deeply saddened I am over the tragedy of Heath Ledger’s death. He was one of the greatest actors of our time. Amazingly talented. Most importantly, he was a loving and caring father to his beautiful daughter. It is also apparent how much he loved and was loved by his family. May they each find peace in the days to come through Him and through little Matilda, his lasting legacy. God bless all of his family and friends at this most difficult time in their lives. He will never be forgotten. Shame on those who are exploiting his death!!!! May he rest in peace.

I am so disgusted with both of these shows trying to profit from the passing of such a remarkable human being. They SHOULD be ashamed and so should we if we continue to watch either one of them.

Ya know this is really sitting on a major nerve… To think a wonderful actor who will be greatly missed is being defamed even in his death by a video… I feel for his family and friends.

If The Insider and ET had any type of class in their little finger, they would apologize on tv for even thinking about airing it and for that matter the little piece that got aired. Shame shame on them.

When does it all end? people want there five seconds of fame and at what cost? there like a dog fighting over a bone. its really sad too see.
what does it matter what the hell he did two and a half years ago anyway?and this drug dealer? whats up with that, ? i mean everybody wants there fame and at what cost?
Heath will be laid too rest in his hometown this weekend and then the family will greive for such a long time afterwards. Put yourself in there shoes and think what they must think of seeing or hearing about there child in such a way?
Im so upset too think that what people will do for there few minutes of fame? To slander someone after they are dead? where were these so called people when he was alive??
Too say i sold coke too heath ledger? wow your gonna be a big celb, now how stupid.
Some people have no morals at all. no respect for the family who just loss there child.
Too me it sounds like you never hear the good all the bad that person did, and who are too judge him he was a human being for gods sake. everyone has monsters in their closet, and don’t say thats the price you pay for being a star that isn’t true.
these people have no soul too sit and pray on family members after a loss of a loved one.
I thank god he is being layed too rest in his hometown because here in the states they pick your bones after the fact.
He was a good person and yes he had some faults and he was working on that but too prey on the dead is way out of line.
If you didn’t really know him then you have no-idea who you are talking about. he never was the person they made him out too be. thats because they didn’t know him,
i did know this wonderful person and for you people too sit and pick his bones are just sick.
I was told not too comment on it but they have gone way too far.
heath was a good man a good father and a good person all the way around so go get a life.

I was appalled that they (Insider and ET) would stoop so low as to even think of airing that tape…

Can you even imagine that they would consider it.. Have some couth for crying outloud for the sake of that beautiful little girl and his family and friends.. Let him RIP and let his family grieve in private..

I am right there with all of Hollywood being appalled even though I don’t live in CA…
