How the Globes Cancellation May Cost Hollywood

The cancellation of the Golden Globe Awards has everyone buzzing: How will this cost Hollywood?
It was supposed to be a red carpet to remember this weekend at the Beverly Hilton, where nominee Julia Roberts was expected to mingle with good friends Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Denzel Washington.
But now all fans will see is an hour-long press conference announcing the winners. Those glamorous parties with all those glamorous gowns are all canceled. In all, it's an estimated $80 million loss.
The big question now: Could we see a repeat of this come Oscar time? The striking writers have already put up a roadblock for the Academy.
However, Oscar reps remain confident they can work out an agreement before the show airs Feb. 24.

I had to come to this. They cancelled the Golden Gobes because of the writers strike. I’m getting sick of this. The writers didn’t win, it was fear that won. fear for both sides that won come to an agreement to end the strike and fear from stars that won’t cross the picket line. Fear has divided Hollywood. But what do I know? I know plenty. I know that the Academy awards are next on the list. I support the writer’s strike, but I also support the Academy Awards. I say that the Awards show must go on. I watch the Academy Awards since 1978. I write movie reviews for another web site. My life is revolve around the Academy Awards. I wish I was down there to see it first-hand. And this year’s events are special because it will be held on Febuary 24, on my birthday. wouldn’t it be sad for me to wake up on Oscar Sunday and finding the show cancelled. I would be the saddest day of my life.
