George Joining with Spielberg to End Strike

Don't put away those gorgeous gowns and tuxedos just yet.

George Clooney is teaming up with another Hollywood heavyweight to save awards season and end the writers strike!

The "Michael Clayton" star told "Extra" at the AFI Awards, "I talked to Steven Spielberg this morning. We'll do whatever we can to get it over with."

I agree with George Clooney (Hey, we both got the same first name) and Steven Steven Spielberg to end the strike. I went on long enough and it must come to an end with a fair settlement. I support the strike, but I also support the Academy Awards. I’ve been watching them every year since 1978. I don’t want to see the Academy awards cancelled on Febuary 24. this year’s awards will be very special to me. that day will also be my birthday. My birthday wish is to watch The 80th Academy Awards. I don’t want the show to be cancelled or strike interfered in any way.
