Hey America

When will we see a contestant exactly like Alexis Cohen go further on Idol? She had edge, spunk, energy and integrity - and she´s 23 for crying out loud - ofcourse she acts abit inmature - so did I!

As many others have written in their remarks - she just needed guidance and voicetraining - but NOT a complete makeover or worse because she is unique - which can not be said of MANY OF the contestants that come through to the next round!

And Zepher; you sound like a TRUE friend! If you wish you can contact me on martinlindsgaard@hotmail.com and we could chat more - I have performed myself etc….would love to meet up with you guys when I am in the US next…

Always be victorious! ;-)

Peace!

Martin

I see and hear a new Janice Joplin, in the primitive stages, only with glitter and no original material of her own. Give her time … she’ll get there.

I thought she had a strong and pleasing voice and would have done well to choose a different song that would have highlighted that, like something by Melissa Etheridge like Come to my window or I’m the only one. She should definitely tone down the look and behavior and try again to get to Hollywood on the merits of her superstrong and unique voice!

Alright, I dont speak for Alexis or anything so don’t quote me.

Since tuesday night when AI aired, Alexis and the rest of us have had very little sleep as a result of all the phone calls, trips, and interviews. A lot of you are cplaining that she looks shabby and like she was awake for days, well… She was. When she went to Extra, that was the first night we actually got some sleep (not a lot, but still an hour or so).

It is hard to be called upon like this. You should all wait and she how she does in the long run and please stop disrepecting people you know nothing about in real life.

Alexis is a geat singer IMO and an even better friend. It hurts me to come in here and defend her like this.

We do appreciate your support, good or bad. Just some of the small things are getting blown out of proportion.

Remember, I am not speaking on behalf of Alexis, only as a friend. I also choose to keep my name unshown for personal reasons. Family members and certain friends know my alias and will recognise me accordingly.

I will keep checking in.
Take care everyone
Zepher

She has a very strong voice, and I feel that with proper training it can become an outstanding voice. I saw the picture of her makeover and she looks fantastic! Somehow I think we’ll be seeing her for a while. She has a lot of spunk and and uniqueness. With the help from industry professionals the girl can go far. She’s very entertaining in a Metalocalypse sort of way.

I saw Tuesday night’s “American Idol” with the sound turn off. I was listerning to a NPR station. And my advice is this, if you can’t sing, stay away. If you want to show up in costume (like that guy did dressed up as Princess Lena), save it for Haloween. I feel sorry for Simon, Paula and Randy. And the people who had to sit though this.

I forgot to add, I truly believe we need another veterinarian more than we need another American Idol or singer, though I guess, sadly, being a veterinarian does not pay as much and you don’t get the recognition.

I like Glitter Girl. I don’t believe she’s a train wreck at all. The brief glimpse I had of her drawings made me think she was a talented artist. I liked her singing, although there was some oversinging, and she was a little bit too dramatic. Maybe some voice training would help that. I probably could not handle her energy level if I was around her for any period of time. Though she must not be that bad if she can live in a one-room apartment with her mother, two cats, and a dog. But the raspy sound of her voice, at least in that song, was gratifying and pleasing to me. I can even understand why she was compared to Grace Slick and some other 1960s rockers. I don’t know how she would do with pop type songs or country or RnB songs, but I think she might do okay with rock songs. The judge’s positive comments about her singing— saying she would sound good in a 1960s cover band — makes me think that they were just judging her on her looks and outfit because they were not the norm, at least not for American Idol. Her outfit and makeup were comparable to what one would see with those who perform for children, notwithstanding the occasional costumed performer for adults (example Kiss and Cyndi Lauper). What is so unacceptable about glitter around the eyes of a performer? Nothing that I can see. I like glitter. It’s pretty! Yes she was a little annoying/funny at the end, but I can understand her point, and her disappointment. I believe she is a talented woman though seemingly a bit eccentric, but who’s to say eccentric is wrong. Everyone is always talking about change and wanting change, well here’s your chance, and I am not talking about the occasional plus size person or person with a Mohawk hairdo who appears on American Idol, those either have become acceptable or are becoming acceptable by the mainstream.

Here is a definition of “Teen Idol”
# Teen idol, a popular celebrity “worshipped” by teenagers.

I know the show is American Idol but after her behavior when her audition was done, was completely inappropriate. It wouldn’t matter to me if her face was cleaned up or her hair looked nice or if she could sing.

With all that glitter poured on her eyes, in a heap of mess, it is hard to really take her seriously. She needs to clean up her face and clean up that hair as well as her act and go from there.
