Simon Cowell Denies Throwing a Fit at Photoshoot

Simon Cowell is being ripped in Internet reports for allegedly throwing a diva-like fit and canceling on an "American Idol" publicity photoshoot at the last minute. The shoot cost $50,000.

But "Extra" went straight to the source, and the TV mogul told us he was actually sick. Simon was laid up for four days and didn't pull a "Britney-type hissy fit," adding, "For the first time in six years, I called in sick."

Not only did he have to cancel the photo shoot, he was unable to attend a press conference for his hit show, "The X Factor," as well.

Yup, I’m sure he’s not the type to pull a stunt like that. Then again, should we even be surprised if the press fabricates stuff like these??? It doesn’t make it right, but it is what it is. A lot of celebrities have been unjustly accused of way, way worse things than this. He’s been pretty good at nipping controversies in the bud before it escalates anyway.

Simon is too professional, mature, and responsible to pull a Britney. And I know for a fact that he had the flu last week, because Ryan called him on the phone during his radio show, and he not only said that he was sick, he also sounded miserable. I’m sure it was a disappoinment to Simon to have to miss the photo shoot. The media doesn’t have to twist the knife by saying that he faked sick and was just having a diva moment. Simon just would not do that.
