Marie Osmond: ‘Divorce Isn’t the Solution for an Unhappy Marriage’

Marie Osmond is opening up to “Extra” like never before, going on the record about rumors that she’s set for an all-new talk show and explaining her painful divorce.

Her oldest son, Steve, sat down with the “Dancing with the Stars” beauty to discuss in depth how her 20-year marriage to husband Brian Blosil came to an end.

“I don’t believe divorce is the solution for an unhappy marriage,” Marie told Steve about their decision to split, “but I do think sometimes it's the answer when you ask questions like, ‘Am I being the best person I can be?’…and in those situations, I think it’s the right choice.”

Said Steve, “She is a happier mother, and you’re an astonishing woman.”

"Extra" was with Marie, Steve and his brothers and sisters on their tour in support of Marie's new Christmas CD.

As for those rumors that she’s about to get her own talk show, Marie says she's taking her time.

“There's some television offers. There's some things with your uncle in Vegas. Some Broadway offers. There's a bunch of things,” Marie explained. “[But] I thought I’d take a little breath for five seconds.”

Hi Marie. I have met you several times and usually during a rough patch in your life. You always come through. I have faith that the Lord will help you again, because you are so wonderful and the world needs more like you and your family. Of course us Utahans are a strange lot. I hope you will be happy in your new home. My husband found out at church well after anyway that you have a new home. I hope your family will grow well there and be happy. We have been in Las Vegas for almost 22 years and have been happy here.
I am sure that you and Brain do love each other still, but I support you fully in your decision to end the marriage. You have to do what is right for you both and your family. Good luck Marie. Hope to see you again. You are a Great role model even to and especially to us older woman who struggle with the little things.

Marie, Don’t listen to the person that is telling you to go back to Brian. This person obviously doesn’t know how Brian has pulled you down to the debts of Hell. I could see that you were so unhappy being married to Brian when I went to see your talk show with Donny in Los Angeles. In my opinion he was just another Kevin Federline, living off of you and trying to drive you crazy so that he could get your money. Go on with your life Dollface, you deserve big-time happiness.

Marie, It’s obvious you have a mental disorder and need some help. Do not be afraid to get help. Brian wants you and still loves you in every way. You had a great marriage with him. Return to him and your kids. There are so many psychiatrists out there who can help you, it makes me wonder why you haven’t gone into seeing any of them.
Go get you some help and get Brian to come toyour counselling sessions. Brian still loves you, no matter what. He strikes me as the type that would fight to keep your marriage alive.

Hi Maria, first, I want to say sorry for not being able to vote. I voted for you every single night, Marie each time 27 times. Oops! I can’t tell our secret, LOL! Anyway, you would have won the dancing with the stars trophy if it were not for me having to take a 6 and 1/2 hour CPR class in one night! That was the night to vote. I was not able to. Marie you will always remain numero uno in my book. You and your wonderful family are the best! Continue to live your dreams, you have a special quality that no one else can deliver!

Dear Marie and Family,
Sorry to hear of father’s passing and your divorce. Glad to hear you are going on with life and not letting any challenges stop your life and career goals. Keep up with all of the good things life is bringing you and don’t let it be the “thing” to do. Live for the Lord and you will always be as successful and happy as you are right now. God Bless and Happy Holidays,
Sincerely,
