A couple of my friends and I went down to Rockhill, South Carolina. We went into Home Depot to get some things. We went to check out. I went to pay for everything and the cashier said my I see your card. I said sure. She looked at my card and said at least your name isn’t Kunta Kenta. I said hum and said you like that movie she said yes I love that movie I love I love I love it. She said I love the movie roots she laughed harder and harder. I just couldn’t believe it. In this day and time. I went to the car and cried like a baby. Lord help me this is still going on in 2007. I am a educated black man I didn’t think an adult would crack on my name . I guess 50-60 white female cashier at Home Depot loves not just likes to see black people as slaves. Everyone in the area was laughing at me . They laughed me out of the store.
