the only reason it’s differnt is that she is sending the wrong message, i have no prolems with teenage pregnancy it’s just that she is in the public eye and is a role model to young girls everywhere including my younger sister and cousins and i don’t want them to have the wrong idea about what they should and shouldn’t do. and the only reason teenagers were having babies at 16 when there were horse and carriges is because ther was a shorter life expectency, not because it was right.

Ok, so this is to the people who think she has just ruined her life and that her baby is a mistake.
I think you people are just immature. There’s nothing wrong in having a child at 16. I mean people back when there were horses and cariages did it all the time. Yeah, it’s a lot harder but it’s possible and a lot of good can come from it. I mean Jamie will be stronger than most of you low lifes. At least her child will have a good, inspirational mother. I bet half of your mother’s couldn’t even care for you.
I guess I’m defending her because I’m the same age and in the same position but either way, she shouldn’t be judged. She needs all the support she can get. If you people are just going to trash her to make yourselves feel better, then sorry to say it, but you should really rot in hell. She’s a nice girl. I really don’t think it’s completely her fault because she didn’t exactly have the best rollmodels, now did she? Nope, didn’t think so. You guys shouldn’t even be trashing her sister. There are a lot of families like theirs but you don’t hear about them now do you? So please tell me, what’s the difference between them other than the fact that the Spear’s are publically known?
My point is, God doesn’t judge you, so why judge them? Those who repent their sins are forgiven. Those who don’t are sentenced to hell. i wish all of you the best of luck with your pitiful lives. ok shes pregnant!!! big deal, i was suprised to, but get over it. she made the bed so let her lay in it. there r so many other 16 yr old girls out there that r getting pregnant at a young age even younger than 16 but there not on every tv show. just leave her alone. i mean, i dont totally agree with the situation but just help her in stead of stalking her all the time, wich makes her feel so much worse

yeah…jamie got pregnant!so what other girls get pregnant!i think the reason everyone is trashing her is because ppl looked up to her!and now she let them down…its not like other girls dont get pregnant!some get pregnant when there younger!so if you want to trash her dont just trash her trash everyone else that got pregnant at that age!i think its because her mom didnt teach her any other way! and plus her sister BRITTANY! she is the worst! and i saw that in an article her mother told everyone! i used to say i hated everyone in her family but jamie idk anymore…..

1) Although other girls have babies at 16, it certainly doesn’t mean that we should condone it. There are a ton of reasons why it isn’t a good idea, even if a girl *thinks* she has found her future husband. 90% of teenage relationships don’t last a year (and I think I’m being generous here), let alone a lifetime. It’s not good for the mother or the baby to lose the father, and it’s not all that great for the father, either. It may work out well on rare occasions, but the odds are stacked against you. I’m not sure if she’s keeping the baby for religious reasons or not, but IMO it’s not a good idea. It’s very hard to find the 16 year old who’s mentally mature enough to make the necessary sacrifices and accept the 24/7 job of being a parent. It’s hard to find the 20 year old who’s ready for it, for that matter.

2) As a role model for many girls and as a celebrity in general, she and other celebrities who make bad decisions lower the bar, so to speak, for all of American society. They make it seem more acceptable to do these things, which leads to more bad decisions being made. I think we can all agree that we don’t want kids making more bad decisions. Sure, she’s only human, but when she chose to become a public figure, she should have been more prepared to accept the responsibility of being a better role model. Criticizing her is society’s way of doing damage control and demonstrating to kids who may be influenced by her that what she did is NOT all right. It’s unfortunate that she has to take the flak, but that comes with the territory of being a celebrity who starts influencing people the wrong way. At the cultural level, we would be failing future generations and ourselves if we didn’t criticize her.

3) At a more personal level, what she’s done and her decision to keep the baby is over with, and she needs to bear the criticism and grow up quickly. I hope she’s ready for it, and wish her strength because she’ll need it.

4) Don’t call her trailer trash, because people are, at the heart of it, pretty much the same no matter where they’re from. There are plenty of richer kids who just use the money to buy more drugs, fake IDs, and back their SUVs into telephone poles. Where she’s from should have no bearing on how she’s judged. She should be judged as a person and as a role model, nothing more.

OK!..i think that she probably made the biggest mistake in her life. no1 will be able to see her the same nemore..so is Jamie Lynn the next Britney. Sorry, but that whole family is MESSED UP!

I respect Jamie for coming out publicly and keeping her baby instead of hiding it and having an abortion. That took a lot of guts. We all have fallen in some form or fashion, the question is are we getting up thanking God for another day and sharing our testimony. Last I remember, Jesus is the only perfect one.
