Though Lynne Spears' parenting book has been postponed, the publishers announced today that she is still moving forward with the story. In addition, Thomas Nelson, Inc. is insisting that the book is not a manual on how to parent: It's a warning.
"From the onset, the media have inaccurately reported that Lynne Spears' book is a parenting book. I'm sure this helps fuel tabloid readership, but it's simply not true," said Michael S. Hyatt, president and CEO of Thomas Nelson. "Lynne's memoir will provide a window into the real-life world of fame and worldly success, including the toll it extracts from some who aspire to it. It will provide a much-needed corrective to a world obsessed with the wrong priorities."
He added, "We believe in redemption. Therefore, we are standing by Lynne and her family during this difficult time."
Reports surfaced that the book was shelved following 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears' announcement that she was pregnant. It was originally slated for a 2008 release.

Teen sensation Miley Cyrus doesn't want to be known for jailtime, pregnancy or DUI's: She wants to be a good role model.
"I like to look kind of like what girls would want to look up to, and their moms and dads will say, 'Hey, that's cool. That's different,'" she said during a taping of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" yesterday.
The "Hannah Montana" star, 15, added she thinks of her audience when she picks out clothes for the red carpet.
"I say what I'm comfortable in and what I like and nothing that's too out there," she said.
She also credits her dad, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, for keeping her grounded.
"My dad - he's a big influence, not only just because of the music but growing up around him," she says. "I've never seen him treat anyone less than with respect and love for everyone, down to the fans that wait until 3 in the morning until his bus pulls out at 5."

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will return to TV despite the WGA strike, Comedy Central has announced.
The political funnymen will bring "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report" back to air on January 7, but they'll do it without writers, if necessary.
"We would like to return to work with our writers," the two said in a joint statement. "If we cannot, we would like to express our ambivalence, but without our writers we are unable to express something as nuanced as ambivalence."
Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Kimmel all said earlier this week that their late-night shows will resume in January.

Is a major family feud erupting amid news that Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant?
The tween star’s aunt, Chanda McGovern, is making wild claims that Jamie Lynn got pregnant on purpose – to upstage her famous older sister!
Chanda cites “disruption of the family with everything that’s going on” as evidence that the 16-year-old star may have “rebelled,” adding that she may have been sick of being known as Britney’s little sister.
Jamie Lynn is reportedly in hiding in New York City with her mom, Lynne.
The basketball filed suit yesterday against X-17 for publishing the claims of model Alexandra Paressant, who said she had a two-month affair with Tony.
The San Antonio Spurs star is now seeking $40 million in damages for defamation and invasion of privacy, alleging the site posted a series of "false and defamatory" stories.
"This is false. It never happened," the lawsuit says. "And X17 had to know that the story was false, or, at the very least, it had to have entertained serious doubts about the credibility of its supposed source."

Could Jamie Lynn's baby daddy be in trouble with the law?
That's the question being raised on the Internet following the news that Jamie Lynn, 16, is pregnant with boyfriend Casey Aldridge's child. Aldridge is reported to be 18 or 19, and depending on the state, he could face criminal prosecution.
In Louisiana, it is illegal to have sex "with consent between someone age 19 or older and someone between age 12 and 17." If he was under 19, then he might be charged with a misdemeanor.
But a spokesperson from the local sheriff's department in Kentwood, Louisiana, has said that no complaint has been filed in the case and "no criminal investigation is currently underway."

“Extra” has learned that the divorce between Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown has temporarily been derailed. New court papers obtained by “Extra” state that Brown’s attorney has quit.
“The relationship [between Brown and his lawyers] has deteriorated to the extent that effective communication is no longer feasible. Additionally, Mr. Brown has breached the retainer agreement," the papers say.
In addition, “Extra” has learned that the court hearing scheduled for Oct. 22 had been postponed for Jan. 4 after Brown couldn’t attend Whitney Houston’s deposition.
"The respondent [Brown] suffered a mild heart attack…and wanted to be present at the deposition…but he was not well enough to do so," court papers read.
