I have to say that I am appauled at some of the attitudes on this message board. Granted, someone in this situation should have remained calm long enough to listen to the 911 operator and follow his instructions, but I can only imagine what was going through everyone’s mind when all this happened. My mother has a bad heart and a few years back she had a gallbladder attack that we just KNEW was a heart attack. My mind was going 900 mph with trying to get her too the hospital and praying that she would be ok. It was crazy! I’m sure this situation was a lot more intense. The thing is, the family never should have had to call 911. After an 8 hour surgery she should have been in-patient or sent to a treatment facility where she could be closely monitored by health care professionals. I’m tired too of hearing about how she died for a stupid reason. There are a lot of hypocrites on here who if given the opportunity, and financial means, would probably have some type of work done. I’ll bet any amount of money on that.

How very sad for Kanye to have lost his mother. I am shocked by the ineptitude of the people who were “trying” to save Donda West. The woman on the phone was not even listening to the 911 operator. She kept repeating “huh?” over and over again, despite the operator’s very clear instructions/questions. Anybody who makes it through grade school should be able to answer a simple question with an appropriate answer.

I learned CPR in high-school as part of a mnadatory health education class. It should be taught in middle school, in my opinion. Everybody over the age of 10 needs to know how to give CPR, even if they are not physically strong enough to perform it. Why not teach them the technique when they’re young so they will be able to react in an emergency situation?

Finally, people need to remember that any surgery puts you at risk for serious injury or DEATH. Maybe people who hear this tape will think again about whether or not they need the perfect breasts, a flat tummy, or slimmer hips. Elective plastic surgery is such a horrible reason to lose a loved one.

at the person below. i’ve been in a situation like this before… my friend’s uncle died in front of me (he had a pace maker, but he wasn’t taking care of himself)..

anyway, i was calmed.. i dialed 911.. folks around me were screaming and crying but i assessed the situation and i went into another room and closed the door so that i could explain myself to the operator.

thankfully the other people there knew cpr.. theye kept him alive until he made it to the hospital… but there was really nothing they could do because he had been so bad to his body.

sure it’s easy to point fingers.. but really i see this as a situation that could have been avoided. Everytime someone dies it’s not always of God. I wish folks stop putting everything on him. He would not have wanted this woman to suffer in this manner…. in pure chaos.

Okay, has anyone posting comments ever had anything like this happen to them? I think it’s rediculous that this was even released, then for people to totally disrespect the people that were with her when this happened. They were doing what they could, and you can’t help going into shock when this happens. I think you all should have a little respect for this woman’s loved ones who were with her when she died. I can’t comment on the content as I only heard a small snippet on television earlier(flipping through channels) but it was enough for me to turn it off immediately. As a nurse my humanity kicked in and I just had to come and comment on how irresponsible it is of Extra and other media outlets to post this or any other tapes like this. Why does the media think millions of people want to hear this? Let alone her family who i’m sure is still grieving..Let this woman rest in peace and stop your thirst for ratings..

My son did a better job of saving my dad’s life when he had a heart attack on the stair, and he was (9) at the time. If these were her relatives, Kanye should have them ALL take a CPR class. I’m a nurse, and that was TOTAL chaos. So much wasted time, but if THEY would have saved her, she would have been brain dead. They refused to put her on the floor, not realizing you need a HARD FIRM surface for CPR to be effective….DAMN…I’m glad I heard it, but now I really feel sorry for Kanye, that these people were the ones with her.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Had the person on the phone with the operator LISTENED to the operator, Kanye might still have a mother. I’m still listening to the tape, and at this point, i’m sure she’s dead. They should have listened. And this has NOTHING to do with “poor folk getting money”.
