Donda West's 911 Tape

"Extra" has obtained the 911 call made after Kanye West's mother, Donda, was found unresponsive in her home.

In the tape, an unidentified woman is heard crying, "She's having a heart attack...she complained she couldn't breathe."

As the 911 operator asks questions, the caller pleads for Donda to wake up and says, "We're trying to do CPR on her."

Donda died Nov. 10 following multiple surgeries by Dr. Jan Adams. Adams has maintained that he did nothing wrong.

An autopsy report is pending.

she should just listen to the guy instead of paying attention to the ma’am in the background.

The lady on the phone is and idiot. Because if it was me on that phone I would be listening to the 911 operator mabey she would at least had a chance. It is hard to listen to someone when such a tragedy is going on, but to save a life you need to listen. Our prayers go out to you Kanye

you know what i am highly upset of how this operator handle the sitution. he should of just sent the police and or amblance. they were on the phone over 8 minutes…where were they that it takes over 8 minutes to come. and he got an attitude over the phone when he just should of been calm. and as far as the women on the phone go they should of paid more attention to the guy on the phone instead of trying to make the situaiton harder.

I THINK THAT THE PEOPLE THAT SUROUNDED HER WERE IN A PANIC AND THEY SHOULD HAVE LISTEN!!! NOT SAYING THAT SHE WOULD BE LIVING BUT 3 MINUTES INTO THE RECORDING CPR STILL HAD NOT BEEN STARTED

When the majority of people call 911 during a serious situation, they are not themselves, but I have to say these women are the most ignorant people I’ve ever heard on 911..so sad

Okay, the tape has been posted and we all agree that it was wrong…Let us move on..

I totally agree with alot of the postings. The lady that was on the phone, wasted critical time by NOT listening and appropriately responding to the operator who is trained to help in those situation.

This tape should be used as a GOOD example of WHAT NOT TO DO!

I love that everyone is having a go at the media for posting this tape, and how disrespectful it is.. But you were all nosey enough to come have a listen to it, weren’t you!!

8 minute response time for the ambulance is great. This is a realistic response time and better than average for most cities.

NEWSFLASH: People, if someone been down without effective circulation for even 6 minutes the brain begins to die. Ambulance response time can be around 10-15 minutes (or worse, depending on where you live). Do the math…CPR is a vital link in keeping the brain alive until medical care can be obtained. Everyone should know the basics.

3 things

1. I think the operator did a great job handling these two frantic ladies. True we all may act differently during such a frantic position, but he tried really hard just to get them to listen and just to do CPR correctly.

2. Hearing these ladies mess up for about 8 minutes or so makes me want to go get re-certified in CPR. I think they had a brief window of actually saving her life, but fumbled it up

3. I think Dr. West should have been in the Hospital recuperating. If she had been there certified staff could have immediately worked on her.

She was not healthy enough to have that surgery. She had been advised that her medical history was sufficient not to clear her for this surgery.

The surgeon never should have operated on such a sick person.

She also could have convalesced in a special hospital after the surgery for recovery. She turned that down too.

I personally think that the operator was over the top. He really annoyed me while listening to this tape. I a situation like that you really don’t know how you would react. He’s talking about the phone going out. And yelling at people be a little more understading. I understand he was trying to give instructions however he just really got under my skin.

these ladies probably killed her because they are like two idiots and why wasnt an ambulance sent right away there on the phone talking about who knows what.

NO ONE CAN GO COMPLAINING ON THE TIME IT TOOK FOR THE AMBULANCE TO GET THERE, I HAVE BEEN HIT BY A CAR ABOUT FOUR MILES FROM THE HOSPITAL AND IT TOOK AT LEAT 15 MINUTES FOR THE ABMULANCE TO ARRIVE, HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT MAYBE SHE WAS 10 MILES AWAY FROM THE NEAREST HOSPITAL? YOU CANT GO COMPLAINING ON SOMETHING LIKE THAT UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN PLACED IN THAT POSITION.
