Marie Osmond: 'It's Okay to Be Alone'

Marie Osmond's rollercoaster run on "Dancing with the Stars" has made her one of Hollywood's hottest commodities. Now the resilient American sweetheart is telling "Extra" why fame is even better the second time around.

"I have great kids. I love my kids, you know that and it's okay," she said. "It's okay to be alone, and it's okay to be busy and it's a choice you make to be positive with what comes at you in life."

It's been a turbulent year for Marie. She lost her father and saw the end of her 20-year marriage. Still, she has a lot more coming at her in 2008: She'll reunite with partner Jonathan Roberts for the "Dancing" tour and somehow find time for even more.

"We have a lot of offers on the table right now," Marie explained about a possible talk show.

She added, "I'd love to sing opera. I love theater. But truly, when you get to a certain place in your life, the joy comes watching your kids."

Marie Osmond amd the whole Osmond are great. I was really wanting to see her win. She worked hard on Dancing with the Stars and hope she and Donny do a new talk show. Happy New Year Marie and the whole Osmond family. I hope it is a blessed one.

I agree completely with Liz’s comment — a new variety adult format with great production values would be great for Marie. It’s about time for a new show in primetime that combines music, comedy, dancing and fun (but not corny) skits, maybe in front of a theater-style audience.

Marie is such a delight to those of us who have watched her since she started her show-biz career at a very young age.
The thing about Marie, Donny and the Osmonds is they represent wholesome America. She comes from such a good family of strong morals and values, and love. She is genuine. The good in her heart shines through. Most of America is so fed up with the typical Hollywood celebs who seem to live in a different world than the rest of us, a very fake world. Marie brings a sense of reality to us. She is America’s sweetheart. She is well-grounded and knows what really matters in life.

I would love to see Donny and Marie reunite in a regular TV series. What I would love is another variety/talk TV show, but in a new broadway/adult format with really good production. Unfortunately, this may mean leaving the rest of the family at home.
