What Killed Donda West?

Kanye West is said to be devastated today by the tragic loss of his mother, Donda, the most important woman in his life.

Now focus is shifting to the doctor who performed her surgery, Los Angeles surgeon Dr. Jan Adams.

Preliminary reports say her death may have been due to complications resulting from plastic surgery. Dr. Adams performed a tummy tuck and breast reduction on Donda in a procedure that reportedly lasted eight hours, twice as long as necessary, reports TMZ.com.

She died Saturday after paramedics rushed her from her home to the hospital. Now there are concerns why Donda, 58, was sent home and not to a surgery recovery center.

But today Dr. Adams is insisting, “I did nothing wrong.” He told TMZ that Donda might have died from a heart attack, pulmonary embolism or massive vomiting.

One plastic surgeon, Dr. Andre Aboolian, said he wouldn’t perform cosmetic surgery on Donda because he was worried about a pre-existing medical condition. He insisted she get medical clearance before he could perform the surgery. He never heard back from her, and he wouldn’t elaborate on the medical condition because of patient-privacy rights.

Dr. Adams has previously appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s show and even on “Extra” to answer plastic surgery questions.

“Extra” has uncovered court papers revealing that Dr. Adams was busted for DUI in 2003 and 2006. In addition, a spokesperson from the American Board of Medical Specialties tells “Extra” he is not board certified. In addition, he has multiple malpractice lawsuits lined up against him.

Kanye, 30, considered his mother one of his best friends. Donda raised him after her husband left when Kanye was just three years old.
