Wrong Contestant Crowned Miss California USA 2008?

Inside sources tell “Extra” that the Miss Universe organization may have a new scandal on its hands over last weekend’s Miss California USA Pageant.

“Extra” has information that the wrong contestant may have been awarded the crown due to an alleged accounting error.

Cristina Silva, Miss Los Angeles, was named Miss California USA 2008, but sources tell “Extra” the judges actually chose the 2nd runner-up, Raquel Beezley, Miss Barstow, as the winner.

Sources tell “Extra” that Silva has been made aware of the error and the pageant’s owner, Donald Trump, has been looped in as well.

Today, The Miss Universe Organization tells “Extra”, “This matter is being handled on the state level.”

I demand a “do-over” pageant for the top 15. They all deserve a fair chance at the title and clearly there were errors. Where ever they were made, it is still unfair to all of the 15.

In response to the comment that the Contestant wrote. Obviously, you weren’t one of the semi-finalist. Honey have some class. The comment about her being an embarrassment should be directed to you. How dare you say that about any of the contestant everyone is there because they were chosen and deserve to be there even you with that ugly heart. I really feel sorry for you. You should not be allowed to be part of any pageant. It’s pretty obvious that one of the embarrassment of the pageant most of been you. By the way I was there and she did what she needed to do to win. Well deserved Christina Silva you are a winner and as I recall in your Response “YOU ARE ON TOP AND IN FRONT”!!! P.S. CHRISTINA YOU NEED TO SCHOOL ALL THESE BITTER CONTESTANTS…..

Christina Silva IS ALL NATURAL…she was being provocative?like a stripper? THAT’S HILARIOUS!!! You are just finding anything you can to bring her down, and don’t be jealous because you most definitely DO NOT have one of Christina’s greatest characteristics, and that is,HUMILITY (someone who is humble about their strengths)! SHE’S EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE IN HER SKIN , and from reading your negativity you clearly aren’t. I wouldn’t be surprised if deep down you feel THREATENED by her natural grace and beauty…I wouldn’t blame you if you do feel INSECURE around her…KEEP TRYING TO KNOCK HER DOWN HONEY BUT NO MATTER WHAT…ON SUNDAY SHE DID WIN THAT CROWN AND AN EXTRA MISS CONGENIALITY AWARD AND YOU???? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! Keep trying hun, but while you do MANY of us will be sitting here MOCKING your insecurities and jealousy… yes, this is an unfortunate situation but CHRISTINA SILVA DESERVES THE CROWN AND THAT’S IT!!!!

I was in attendance at this pagent and the manner in which it was handled and conducted was a joke. It surprised me that Donald Trump’s name is attached to this event.

While all the girls were terrific in their own way - clearly, the judges didn’t even get the top 15 right. Christina Silva may have been the winner of the Ms. Congeniality - but, clearly not the overall winner.

Ms. Barstow certainly seemed like a “seasoned” pagent walker - but, certainly not the one either who could take Ms. California to the Top. Who is to say that the accounting errors did not happen in other areas? Ask the audience who were there both nights - they didn’t get the TOP 15 right - how can they get the winner right!

This whole thing is a joke!!!

Ms. Teenage California - they got right!

I attended this pageant and it was clear as day that Carrie or Raquel sprarkled and dazzled the audience and were obvious crowd favs.. So mistakes happen… Just whatever happens, it happens for a reason…. Good Luck Raquel.. You go girl…

christina did not look in shape?? SHE HAD A 6 PACK FOR CHRIST’S SAKE!!! With the dancing alone SHE BLEW EVERYONE AWAY!!! She looked like this was her first pageant?? DUH IT WAS!!! That’s what was the most amazing part about everything…she’d NEVER been in a pageant in her life and she still managed to blow everyone away and win the crown!! like she said ” she IS in front and on top!” which is what got her the crown!!

I hear that an angry parent put their foot down and complained about the new winner because she felt her daughter (who only made Top 10) should have won. I could not get specific details, but apparently they are listening because the contestant’s sister was a former titleholder.

you know what? it doesn’t surprise me that people think it’s a JOKE.. mistakes happen, and you’re right, racism doesn’t need to be brought up.. Raquel is a beautiful girl and everyone knows that she won fair and square. she is a mixed race, also. so go ahead and push the RACISM issue. it isn’t HER fault that this happened.

Raquel Beezley was not only very articulate, posed and meant to be on the stage but was obviously the crowd favorite as attested to the reaction when she was called out as the second runner up you could tell that she had done a lot of preperation and training to be in the shape that she was were as chistina silva looked like this was her first ever pageant and was definetly not in shape and was not acting or talking in an appropriate manner on stage im not saying that with a little bit of training and time she might be right for the position but not at this time

I totally agree with the comment made by Ian.

When is this going to stop? People wake up. Get your head out of the sand.

What’s wrong with your accounting? This accountant would like to know!!

ALL OF THIS IS THE BIGGEST B.S. I HAVE EVER HEARD. PEOPLE JUST DO NOT KNOW HOW TO GO DOWN WITH DIGNITY. THEY HAVE TO PUT THE VICTOR DOWN TO JUSTIFY WHAT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH. SHAME ON THEM…. I FEEL THAT CHRISTINA IS BEING ROBBED OF HER CROWN. I WILL NOT BRING IN THE RACIST ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS NOT NECESSARY. SHE IS A BEAUTIFUL LADY AND DESERVED TO WIN.

This is a joke. How can they come up with this ridiculous excuse. Whatever the reason may be the only thing is that they are taking the crown away from an intelligent, talented, and beauty lady that deserves what she won fair and square.

We have a very realistic view as to who should place and clearly there were many other girls who could have been better candidates for Miss Ca USA. Although I feel bad for Christina she really wasnt the best choice all around sadly it was very indicative of the entire night and it does not surprise me in the least she was crowned by accident. Even if my daughter did not place or did place there were many other girls who should have and could have been better representatives for this title. Dont pull the race card because the beauty of our state is that it is very diverse! And as you have seen in the past we have had many different races represent Ca so dont even try that.

Whatever the reasons….the whole matter smells.
I am not taking sides,
I am merely responding to above posts
stating that it is racism.

That to me, is the most ridiculous
allegation of all. The last two
Miss California USA’s were African
American (Tamiko DESERVED her crown
and Meghan DID NOT).
I was at both 2006 and
2007’s finals and the above
is my opinion. (Not up for debate).

In addition, California has been one
of the states that has a very impressive track record of sending
minorities to nationals as far as
Maria Remenhi who won decades ago
as well as Hispanic Diana Magana
who was 1st runner up to Courtney
Gibbs at nationals.

So before people go spouting about
racism get your facts straight.
This is not about racism. If
she was miscrowned then shame
on the accounting firm. If
the organization simply feels
now that Cristina has been crowned
that Raquel would do better at
nationals then shame on the
California franchise.

And speaking of the California
franchise. IT CURRENTLY SUCKS.
Everything from the production
to the cost to the emcees to
the staging SUCKS!

I wish I had the money to buy
out K2 Productions. Ever since
they’ve taken over, the franchise
has……S-U-C-K-E-D !!!

First of all, I am not a contestant, nor was I cheering for anyone in particular. I saw what I saw, and by the reaction and booing of almost the entire audience on Sunday night, everyone else felt the same way I do.

Apparently the last two posters are bitter contestants that fall somewhere between #3 and who cares!! Grow up girls and look as hard in the mirror as you are at the victor!
