Wrong Contestant Crowned Miss California USA 2008?

Inside sources tell “Extra” that the Miss Universe organization may have a new scandal on its hands over last weekend’s Miss California USA Pageant.

“Extra” has information that the wrong contestant may have been awarded the crown due to an alleged accounting error.

Cristina Silva, Miss Los Angeles, was named Miss California USA 2008, but sources tell “Extra” the judges actually chose the 2nd runner-up, Raquel Beezley, Miss Barstow, as the winner.

Sources tell “Extra” that Silva has been made aware of the error and the pageant’s owner, Donald Trump, has been looped in as well.

Today, The Miss Universe Organization tells “Extra”, “This matter is being handled on the state level.”

The ruight giurl FUINALL]Y got crowned. I dont know either one and am just a fan who happened to be at the show wiuth friends and we ALL agreed the 2nd runner ip shouild have won. INFACT, the entiure crowd booed for a long time when they announced the second runner up because everyone was convinced she would walk away the winner. This is the right thuing to do!

I think that this whole thing is overall a BIG disappointment! It is not the contestants fault what happened..
a pageant of this caliber should first of all start out with a panel of qualified judges. I mean if a small city pageant can bring in judges that have had twenty and thirty years of judging and pageantry experience, I would expect a large pageant such as the Miss California USA pageant to bring in more qualified judges, not 19 and 20 year olds, who have no business judging a pageant of this caliber. If more qualified judges were present this could all have been avoided, I have seen when the winners are announced and the results have not matched what the judges have selected… THEY STOP THE PAGEANT… judges talk and share opinions, (Generally they agree and have in mind the winners) if the results are way off of what they have in mind…( Which this was) Then they correct it right away, be it accounting or whatever… not wait almost a week!

i was at the pageant and right after the crowning i knew something wasnt right!there seemed to be politics involved.altho the pageant was well done i have to give the judges an f as far as doing what there supposed to do and having insight to some contestants and knoe some girls is just appalling to even take those into consideration, all those girls worked there butts off and were stressed throgh out the whole time and to have unfare judges is appalling i personnaly feel that miss barstow should have won out of the top 5 i also very strongly disagree with there top 15 picks there were way better looking girls than the ones that were picked oh well????politics always win…its ashamed that eventhis happens in america everyday!!!

although christina’s dancing was great, this competition isn’t just bout DANCING. it is about everything alltogether. please give it up, all of this chaos is not going to get her the crown. she does not deserve it and saying that the mistake should let her keep the crown would not be fair to it’s rightful owner. we need a true CALIFORNIAN who looks the part to represent us.

i’m excited to see the Miss California compete in April, i think she will do a GREAT job and she is the best choice. while all these rumors are being tossed around, i think that all of Christinas fans should really stop to think about what a relief it would be to not make such a fool of herself. it is meant to be this way. even if the judges were to have changed ANYTHING, leave it up to Raquel to PROVE to everyone that the choice was right. no matter what anyone says, she’ll hold her head high and SHE WILL BE the best

this situation is both outrages and beyond ridiculous!! I STRONGLY believe that CHRISTINA SILVA is the rightful winner of the crown…she won that crown along with her title as Miss California USA 2008 FAIR & SQUARE!!! This is an extremely unfortunate situation, and sadly, I am not all surprised! I attended Sunday’s final pageant event and I couldn’t even begin to describe the disappointment i felt for such a lack of organization and professionalism in many errors that occured that night. This is all so appaling expecially because this is one of our country’s biggest pageants. Yes there were many beautiful women on that stage Sunday night, Christina has what many of those girls don’t, and that is, she’s ALL NATURAL! As for the BITTER contestants that have put up comments on this article…you girls should be ASHAMED of yourselves!! Especially because you contributed to her winning the MISS CONGENIALITY award…which no one PAYS anyone including judges to win that award. To think that you girls were running to represent our state? WHAT HYPOCRITES!! I may not speak for all but i’m sure I speak for many when I say that you should NOT be running in pageants where you would be chosen as a ro model to young women. You would be a HORRIBLE role model teaching young women hypocracy…Christina obviously has what you don’t. She is an all around well rounded WOMAN, something you lack! If Christina does in fact give Raquel the crown like she “deserves”, then you know what? NO MATTER WHAT, she walks ON TOP & IN FRONT because she would be handing over the crown and walking away with her INTEGRITY & CLASS!! CHRISTINA YOU DESERVE THAT CROWN! YOU WON IT FAIR AND SQUARE! DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE BITTER HEARTS OUT THERE BECAUSE YOU ARE AN AMAZING PERSON AND BETTER THAN THEM. They are probably just upset because they didn’t get nearly as close as you did to winning that title!

I think the whole pageant should be re done with different judges. Apparently many of the girls knew some of the judges personally. Now who knows, everything could have been miscalculated.

Ms. Beezley, I know it’s not your fault but really will you feel good about taking the crown from someone that won it fair and square? You will be feeding in this political B.S. They are just trying to play dirty and using both of you for their publicity stunt. You need to realize what is happening here. If you really have class you would try to get to the bottom of this before you accept something that might not be rightfully yours. THINK ABOUT IT……BECAUSE YOU WILL BE JUDGE BY THE PEOPLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS. GET READY FOR THEM TO LOOK FOR DIRT ON YOU JUST TO SPICE UP THE TRAGEDY THAT HAS TRANSPIRED. REMEMBER BAD OR GOOD PUBLICITY IS EXPOSURE THAT THEY ARE SEEKING NO MATTER WHO GOES DOWN IN THE PROCESS. JUST TRYING TO BE REAL. GOOD LUCK AND ONCE AGAIN I HOPE YOU DO THE RIGHT THING.

Do you people know that Christina already gave up her title she told Raquel that it was the right thing to do. And she is right if it wasnt yours to begin with then you have to give it to the girl who won by the votes. Unfortunately I agree with the person who said that they missed many girls and the top 15 was a miss also - altho Raquel would have been in the top 15 (of the choice of many who were at the prelims and the actual pageant) so at least she won! Congratulations Raquel you go girl! and make us proud !

Crowned on Sunday. Stripped of crown on Thursday because of an ‘accounting error’? Please. If an error was made, the Pageant should simply live with THEIR mistake, fire the people that made the mistake, and move on. The contestant crowned on Sunday, at the Pageant, in front of everyone, was the winner. She won the contest. It is like winning a sporting event. The outcome cannot be changed after the winner is declared. Christina Silva is and should remain Miss California USA 2008.
