I am very proud of Miss California for standing up for her beliefs. She is being condemned for this but why is this when we cannot condemn gays, lesbians, or any other minority for speaking their beliefs. This seems to be a double standard in our society.

Who was the accounting firm ? Have not heard from them or don’t evan know who they are . And not heard
from one single judge. Name of the person who did the accounting. Inside sources say not really a firm at all.

So many things went wrong with this pageant! If there is a conflict of interest then the Directors need to come clean and make it right. The whole thing sounds shady. Tony, if you really know this is true you need to do the right thing. The Director should not have been the MC. It “appears” that there is inpropriety. The biggest problem is the conflict of interest. If Tamiko was in any and I mean anyway connected with the Morgan Agency, then K-2 must come clean. It would demonstrate integrity. One thing that Keith Lewis said at orientation was that the pageant would be fair. Even if K-2 allowed Tamiko in the pageant unknowingly they need to make it right. If this is true then someone needs to challenge and submit an official complaint to the Miss Universe Organization. I would hope K’2 would correct their error. There are a number of ways to make it right. One of the ways is for a public apology from K-2 along with refunding entry fees to the young ladies that were affiliated with the Morgan Agency. After this is done the Miss Universe organization should announce the new results based on the elimination of those girls. I know it would be tough to do but it would demonstrate integrity. This is extremely upsetting. Is anyone out there willing to go public and demand an official investigation by the Miss Universe organization?

I have been following pageants for nearly 25 years.
I live in CALIFORNIA. So I keep up with the queen that
will represnet represent my state . I know that
MISS BARSTOW has been in over 20 pageants and has
won over 70 trophies. She is cute and I also was at the
ORPHIUM in L.A. When they crowned CHRISTINA,
Neither one of these girls was my pick. I had gone to
suport my good friend who was also in it. We left that
night feeling satisfied with the order that we thought
the judges had made. But then it started they took
the crown from CHRISTINA and gave it to RAQUEL.
My friend received the DVD of that night. She had
purchase the one that had three DVD’s before
during and after . We saw them together and we
both agreed it should have been left in the
ORIGINAL order. CHRISTINA really had a lot of
CHARISMA on the screen. For over ten years a few
of my friends and I have been picking the QUEENS
in the order we think they will be picket. So far 97%.
All of us strongly agreed if the order would have been left alone MISS CALIFORNIA would have been
in the top five. Now this is are pick don’t say anthing untill after april 11 2008.

read of people cliaming to be judges.
I really wish they would tell us there name and not hide behind the name JUDGE. And state what pageants
they were in along with there name. This, I think is the reason pageants are going under. If people can’t

And if it was a human error please have the INTEGRITY and say it was your responsibility and

be if you have been doing this for 4 years KEITH LEWIS. You mean to tell us thier could have been

In all the years they have been in pageants they had never heard so much
booing come from an audiance when a contestant had won. that was the reason KEITH LEWIS had to go back and look at the ballots. And when he did,he found out that the wrong girl was crowned. If KEITH LEWIS knew that night way didnt he
have the INTEGRATY to tell the young lady that same night . And don’t forget
he also said the judges all came up to him and said something is not right.
Then he told the press on the following day 11-26-07 that the ballots were printed wrong. He still does not say a word to MISS LOS ANGELES CHRISTINA SILVA

will stand by KEITH no matter what., Would you mind stateing
your real name for the public. Why would this man with a kind heart let this girl go through so much pain and humiliation. I will tell you why, four
days latter he calls MISS LOS ANGELES
CHRISTINA SILVA and tells her the reason it took a few days is that he had to wait for the ballots to come back
from NEW YORK he does not have the authority to open the ballots, they are sent to NEW YORK in a lock box.
And when he calls CHRISTINA SILVA to his
home he tells her that the MC’S of the night read the names in reverse . He goes on to tell MISS LOS ANGELES
I feel really bad ,he felt realy bad that he even told her ( I will give you my house). WOW! thank you MISS VOLUNTEER
for letting us know that he dosent even own the house he was willing to give to
CHRISTINA. And if it was an official
meeting why werent the five judges. auditors, or the printing co. who did the job not there. It was only KEITH LEWIS and a lady by the name of tricia langa . what really got me interested
in this story was the way this guy KEITH
came up with so many different answers.
So as a pageant lover had to do some investigation myself I contacted one of the three film crews that were thier on 11-25-07 and ask if they would show me the tape, they were more then happy too. I saw the whole thing and not once did I hear booing when they anounced MISS WOODLAND HILLS as first runner up.
This really got me interested I contected some of the girls and they told me that they still have not received the dvd they had prchased in cash from the company KEITH LEWIS hired. Then I said to myself mybe this is way the pageant world is dying.
When all of the UNITED STATES and now
the world sees how a state pageant director
does not care about the feelings of a young lady and knowing for the rest of her life she will be known as the girl
who got humiliated world wide. And as for you MISS USA VOLUTEER you say you will be back next year and stand tall

After months and months of reading the negative and disgusting comments directed towards Keith Lewis and the staff of K2 productions MISS USA & MISS USA TEEN CALIFORNIA, I find it necessary to make only one comment post and leave it at that.

No one but Keith Lewis and the volunteer staff know what truly happened on the night of the 2008 Crowning of Miss USA California. As a volunteer for Miss USA (6+ Inch notebook included) for three plus years - I am very well aware of the unfortunate mistake that took place on the evening of the pageant. It was just that - no miscounting of 1-5. The final MISS USA ballot was printed wrong and as a result it alone was scored wrong - simple as that, no conspiracy theory. We NEVER care who wins - just long as they did there job, impressed the judges and wear the sash and crown proud in the National Competition.

As for Christina and Raquel - I worked with both girls throughout the weekend, they are both beautiful in the own unique ways. Just an inside look into the pageant… On Friday all the girls & there families are full of smiles and nice comments to say about the pageant system and its directors - but come Sunday - you better run and hide no matter what year it is, if your wearing a staff badge. You always have the families who insist that its who you know and the competition is rigged. As a mother of a little girl who dreams daily of entering the pageant system, there is nothing farther from the truth - if there was ANY type of misconduct from the state system or Mr. Lewis, I would know and would never submit my three plus months (volunteering) to this system.

I stand proud today knowing that in my heart that there was no misconduct involving K2 Productions, Mr. Lewis or myself. I personally hope all the people who have blasted Mr. Lewis and the staff here - eat there words when the facts are out.

STAFF OF K2 = VOLUNTEERS WILLING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE toward the women of California.

MR. Lewis - Keith is one of the most caring, honest, and giving person I know. If he wasn’t I would run faster than anyone on the staff. I believe in Keith and what he is trying to accomplish in the dying pageant world.
The young women of today need people like Keith, who believe the best is yet to come, an ugly duckling can blossom into a swan and knows from inside is where true beauty lies.

As for the comments about Mr. Lewis’s mansion in Beverly Hills, lets get your facts straight, he doesn’t own it! Its someone else’s house and Mr. Lewis lives there and runs K2 Productions out of the house.

FACT: NO ONE IS PAID BY K2 - We ALL VOLUNTEER OUR TIME AND ENERGY!

It is best to remember, he who judges others must face the FINAL JUDGMENT of they self. I personally believe in MISS USA and will stand by Keith Lewis and K2 Productions till the truth be told. There was no misconduct here by Mr. Lewis, or Miss USA CALIFORNIA - people seem to be forgetting that mistakes in life happen and they are just that, mistakes. It is truly and unfortunate circumstance that Christina and Raquel, Mr. Lewis, the K2 staff and myself have to live with in the end. Should we crawl up in a ball and hide? My father always said to face the truth head on and deal with it as honestly and openly as you can - the truth here has set me free. I hope I have done that here and I hope people forgive us for our honest mistake. Most people will never know what its like to run a beauty pageant. Its wonderful, exhilarating and stressful at the same-time. Sixty + hours in three days, constantly moving & shaking, smiling and trying to make all 161 delegates and there families happy - Its almost next to impossible.

As for me, I will be back next year standing proud and tall next to Mr. Lewis and the K2 staff. I will do everything in my power to make sure that nothing like the honest mistake that took place on the evening of the 2008 crowning of Miss USA California, ever happens again.

Keith - I am proud to work with you and all the K2 Volunteer staff. I believe in your position to stand tall and freely admitted our mistake to the public. I would have never been able to come back to MISS USA had it been kept a secret - which was never even option, given Mr. Lewis conscious desires to keep the beauty pageant system on the up and up. Mr. Lewis is a man of honesty and true integrity. As a result of his honesty he has been name called and people say he should have his directorship pulled. Nothing is farther from the truth in my eyes. Mr. Lewis stood up and took responsibility for the outcome of our ballot layout/ printing mistake - (FYI - there are 18 ballots printed in all for the entire competition - Mistakes happen) . Tell me you never made one and your lying. Keith could have let Christina go on as titleholder, but she didn’t win, Raquel did. Is this being dishonest or righting a wrong?

I was not aware of this site or similar sites like this one. My curiosity and disgruntlement lead me to these types of forums and blogs due to the immature and negative commentary written about Miss Christina Silva. It states on this very site that bashing is not welcomed. Clearly this cliental can not conceptualize that. The hypocrisy truly strikes me! You are criticizing someone you have never met nor know nothing about. The opinions made regarding Christina’s body image, her response to her final question, her very emotional crowning and “lack” of experience have been erroneous and very ignorant.
From what I am assessing many of you are currently or trying to become title holders fascinated by this lifestyle. Admit-tingly a lifestyle I have never been a part of. However I can emotionally relate fantasizing to become Miss USA, Miss America, Miss You Name It as a little girl. Many little girls do, it is part of our pop culture. Be that as it may, there is a very fine line between a true natural beauty who wins to represent her nation and a mechanical well rehearsed beauty who wins to represent her nation.
Yes this was Christina’s very first beauty pageant and has stated that very proudly. No she has not had thirteen years of training with pageant coaches, walking coaches, spray tanners and never been coached to give programmed thoughts and responses to questions asked to her. For most of you the above is your life, some your only life. I can recognize one’s resentment and annoyance for loosing to an “inexperienced” new comer. But get over it! A first time pageant competitor with no rules and expectations to go by the FACT is she won the evening of November 25th. As much as you want to deny it, Christina stood out amongst all her peers. People can never impose charisma, natural beauty and strong character you just got to have it. She has it! Women like Christina create history their unforgettable.
My point proven from an opposer “As for the winner. I am appalled that this average woman will represent our beautiful state of California at Miss USA this next year. When she was announced, the whole place was practically silent with a jaw-dropping audience. She did not have the body, her dress was too short, and her on stage question was disgustingly bad. I feel bad for the 60 or so other contestants who would have made a better representatives for our beautiful state. I am discouraged to no end and maybe with some major weight loss, good wardrobe, and facial reconstruction we can pull a top 15 placing in Miss USA. (I doubt it)” Whether you wanted to or not your eyes were fixated on her. No other delegate in the history of the Miss California competition has achieved the amount of respect, praise, honor and fame Christina has. When Ellen DeGeneres personally invites you to be a guest on her number one show you must be exceptional.
Of course her answer was disgusting to you and all your conventional puppetry thinking Pageantbots.
Her answer was profound, energetic and luminous. I had never heard a pageant contestant answer a question as naturally and confidentially as she did. It wasn’t rehearsed, trained or polished, she impressed many people.
All four finalist did well. But you have to admit there were flubbed words, to many umm…umm and some very boring. Christina spoke with such fluidity and fearlessness that the Orpheum Theatre became to small for her.
We our living in an era where for the first time in the history of our country a woman could actually become our President. Politics aside that is an accomplishment and a sign that strong minded, driven women is what this country is in desperate need of.
The opposer stated as well that Christina needed major weight loss, good wardrobe, and facial reconstruction. Need I remind you Raquel has been competing in beauty pageants for many years, I research my facts, as she has come back year after year after year to place 2nd THREE consecutive years in a row to finally win (on what many call a fixed engagement) because some boob did not know how to properly count from 1 to 5. So who is the one that needs reconstruction? Christina who competed in her very first beauty pageant, a national one at that, to not only win the title Miss California USA but also Miss Congeniality? Or Raquel who has some fans saying ” It is her 3rd time as 2nd runner up.. Maybe she should move to a different state… Shes a good sport and a lovely girl… Who knows about next year.. Good luck to the new winner” and “Raquel Beezley is very charming…. on stage. And for this reason alone is why she is having a hard time winning pageants that she competes in state, nationally and internationally.”
When Christina won it was exhilarating and a moment she embraced in her heart forever.
You have a young woman representing a state that is noted for it’s diversity, culture, art and enticing beauty. A native of Los Angeles, she loves her state and is proud of her families history there. She is the first in pageant history to be of Ecuadorian and Mexican descent. Fluent in Spanish she has used that strength to inspire and empower the Urban Latin Community. She is what California is about. Beautiful, poised, diverse, artistic and cultured.
By age 21, the age Raquel is currently, Christina had traveled to Ecuador for three months to live, learn and give. She returned to the US to attend the number one private fashion design institute in the West Coast. A FIDM Alum she not only loved designing but found a passion for International Business. Prior to attending FIDM she was a student at the elite private art university CAL-Arts, as a Dance and World Cultures major. An ambitious girl she saw nothing as impossible. While many contestants spent their summer before the competition getting hair extensions and spending hours with pageant coaches. Christina was living in China for three months teaching English and Catholicism. She came back to the states rejuvenated and continued her studies to learn Mandarin.
I share these intimate and also professional successess of Christina to all of you because I still can not make sense of what happened. They had the next Miss USA in their hands but chose to shamefully and disrespectfully revoke her from her rightful title with ludicrous and incomprehensible excuses.
I had watched Raquel attempt on-camera interviews and could only shake my head in disbelief. Christina is magnetic on screen, articulate, strong minded and charismatic. Raquel while beautiful and charming in a Girls Next Door type of way just does not exude personality and refinement.
It does not make sense! Christina was hoaxed.
Many of you wrote that she should move on with her pageant life.The irony in all this is she was never a pageant girl not then and not now. She had a life prior to, during, and after the competition. One does not achieve the abundant knowledge and success she has had by obsessing over beauty pageants.
You may say as you please but Christina Silva is the Real Miss California USA to me and many other supporters. She deserved to win and believe me her extraordinary life and ambitious nature will have your grandchildren knowing who she is.
