Marie Osmond's Son Enters Rehab

Marie Osmond’s 16-year-old son has entered rehab, the star revealed last night on “Larry King Live.”

Marie, 48, didn’t reveal why Michael entered a facility last week or where the program is behind held.

“He's dealing with a lot of issues," she told Larry King. "I don't know that I feel comfortable talking for him. I think he'll have to deal with that."

The “Dancing with the Stars” beauty also issued a statement about the news, saying, “My son Michael is an amazing young man, shown through his courage in facing his issues. As his mother, I couldn’t be more proud of him. The press and public have always been kind and gracious in the past and I know they will continue to respect our privacy during this time.”

Michael, who is adopted, is one of eight kids Marie has raised with ex-husband Brian Blosil.

"I will say this," Marie said. "My son is amazing. He's dealing with a lot. He's one of my kids. He's dealing with adoption issues and all kinds of things right now."

The past few weeks have been rough for Marie. Last week, her father George died at age 90. Before that, she fainted on national television after a “Dancing” routine.

Still, Marie has shown resiliency throughout her tumultuous month.

After her collapse, she told “Extra,” “You just have to pull up the boot straps and go for it again.”

Maries didn’t look that shocked to me at the time. It looked more planned in my opinion. The only thing that may have bothered her is that they promised ET the first scoop on Mike. And they got it! No biggies.

I watch Larry King because He has interesting guests and he does ask interesting questions but sometimes he acts like he has no class. I think what he did was a slip of the tongue. I do not think he even thought about it. He certainly did not act like he did anything wrong. He owes Marie an apology. I think larry should think about retiring.

I couldn’t agree more…….I believe Larry King just hit a new low of TV journalism…..King demonstratred a lack of any kind of flow to the interview and I can’t even tell what the actual point of the interview was? How lazy to go from ah Marie you’re a great entertainer to oh I hear your son is in rehab……I used to appreciate hearing different sides of personalities on the Larry King show, but that show has been burned off my TV and cable….I also heard that CNN was a little miffed when Oprah hosted 100 Osmonds for the 50th reunion versus CNN…..poor losers……..

Larry King is an Osmond friend, especially Marie’s. His wife is Marie’s best friend. He knew about it probably from her. His assistant or (maybe she does not work with him anymore)was Patti, another of Marie’s best friend. She is like Maries sister. He has no class. To have a friend do that, I would end the friendship. He had no right. He should have offered his support offstage, not on. She should have walked off.I do not care how classy she is, her look stated “How dare he”. Donny stated the truth to him several times, yet he still did not get it. Sometimes it is classier when you let your friends know how you feel and if they pass it, cancel their friendship. Marie has also been rude at times to fans, whether they want to know it or not. She has been rude, she uses her laughter as a protection device. When you laugh that much, you are hiding something. Someone who never states the identity of who raped her, yet at the same time say she loves women and wants the best for them -is hyprocritical. How can you be courageous yet tell women not to tell because you are scared. It is in spite of your fear you must say it, and heal. She will never be healed, if she tells her brother just what is appropriate for her. God bless Marie and her son

Larry didn’t have any class last night when he asked Marie a very private question about her son. My god he is only 16 and now he will have to deal with everyone in the world knowing his problems. Larry you just added another brick to his load.

I was shocked as I watched Larry King ask Marie Osmond about her sixteen year old son. The look on her and Donny’s face’s was as they were thinking “What does that have to do with this interview”?. Does Larry King not understand what “Off Topic” means?
God Speed Marie.
Shame on you Larry.

larry king showed a deplorable lack of class when asking marie osmond about her son. it had nothing to do with 50years in show business, her dad, or dancing with the stars. If he has any sense at all he will offer her a public apology for how he treated her. The damage has been done, but Marie showed the world they type of lady she is.

I agree with the comments. Larry King should not have told that very private information about Marie’s son. That was not his place. You could tell she was caught off gaurd and did not want to talk about it, but graciously did. SHAME ON Larry King. Marie you are a wonderful mother and I hope this dosn’t get out of hand with the media like all the others that enter rehab. Take care and God Bless!

Larry King , is a jerk! Marie Osmond is a wonderful woman and does not to deserve the treatment she got on his show, it is not the first time he opened up his big fat mouth! I’ve seen some stars just walk right off his show.Marie should of done the same. I mean you can tell she was a little uncomfortable, all I can say is “Sorry about that Marie, you are doing great job!”

Shame on Larry King for bringing up the subject of Marie’s son going into rehab which nobody outside the Osmond family knew about. He totally caught her off guard and he was wrong to do what he did. Marie is a wonderful entertainer who goes through heartaches justlike the rest of us and she should not have had to address the issue with her son Michael at all last night. Just because she is on DWTS and in the spotlight does not mean her private life should be invaded. Whatever her son is struggling with is nobody’s business but hers, her son and his father and I am happy that he is dealing with his issues. God bless you Marie for handling Larry’s question with grace and I hope your son gets better soon.
