Marie: No Regrets About Sharing Drama with World

Marie Osmond is riding high after beating the competition on “Dancing with the Stars” last night, and the courageous star says she has no regrets about sharing her family drama – which included a public fall, her father’s death and her son’s decision to enter rehab – with the world.

“It gave me an opportunity to express my love for my son, who I totally believe in,” she told “Extra” after the show. Last week, 16-year-old Michael decided to seek treatment.

She added, “He's a remarkable young man and I couldn't be more proud to be his mother.”

In nine weeks, Marie has endured plenty of twists and turns on the dance floor.

With her divorce being finalized, a health scare and the tragic loss of her dad, “Dancing” has been the best distraction in the worst of times.

“It's a healthy distraction because you have to put everything aside,” she said. “It releases your endorphins and it feels good.”

“Extra” found out backstage with judge Carrie Ann Inaba that there’s a good chance Marie’s positive attitude and rousing dancing numbers could win her the title.

“Marie Osmond has got the audience voting for her,” said Carrie Ann. “She's a legend in her own time.”

But someone else may have an edge.

“Actually, I think Helio [Castroneves] is the frontrunner,” she admitted.

I just would like to say Marie Osmond and Jonathan Roberts are the best couple to entertained fans all over the world. I think they both did an excellent job performing those amazing routines as well as being on the finals these couple of weeks so far. They have been working so hard to developed each of these dances from the endless hours of rehearsals until 1 or 2 a.m. in the morning and managed to get it done so very quickly onto the dance floor on Monday night’s show come on now people. This remarkable diva is not just an entertainer but a single mom with eight kids whom struggles a difficult month but her family and fans kept her dancing to be voted and that’s takes a lot of courage for Marie Osmond to become our favorite sweet heart to achieved her only goal and make it come true as well ! Marie should deserve to be recognized by everything that she has already accomplished and succeed . Also becoming as our role model for future generation who wants to do what she always does have fun on what you’ve been doing and no stopping at anytime !

Marie,

All I can say is, “You go girl”. You are wonderful and after all you’ve been thru the past few weeks, I feel you are one of the strongest ladies I’ve heard of. Yes, your smile and laugh are quite infectious and I absolutely love it! People should laugh more and what a great world this would really be. So, again I say, “YOU GO GIRL”. Love ya. It is sooo wonderful to see a family who love each other and will cheer for you. With families in such turmoil today it is a blessing to see a family as yours. Sticking by your son is wonderful. God bless you all. I will pray for your sons complete recovery.

I feel for Marie and all she has endured, but I feel this season’s Dancing with the Stars has been most unfail and partial, not to mention Entertainment Tonight with Donny Osmond and all the media attention given to Maria. I feel some contestants went home way to early and not based on their abilities. Voting methods need to be re-evaluated on these reality shows. I think American still cares about fairness and honesty.

This season the show was all about Marie Osmond. She got more air time than anyone else. I thought this very unfair of the show. Everyone should have equal time. The show is about dancing not personal matters. Helio and Mel B dance better than she does. I think it’s funny that Marie and Mel B have previous experience in dancing and Helio is the best and most approved of all of them.

If she wins, it will diminish the show. She hasn’t even got a 30 yet. It will say to future contestants, don’t even bother trying, because if you get perfect scores, you still will lose because this chick has a billion fans and family members and people buying her dolls from QVC…I’m sure she has all the QVC people voting for her, too! Her brother is constantly pimping her and giving her sob stories on ET, which is a conflict of interests having a contestant’s brother as the DWTS correspondent. He’s not the least bit objective about it. All he does is praise her…when he talks about others, it is to point out their flaws in their routines. It’s too much. When Jerry Springer was on, he lasted a little longer than more talented dancers did, but at least he didn’t outwear his welcome, which is what Marie has done. How many weeks she has had the lowest scores with the judges, yet she keeps moving on. And, Jonathan is a cocky little twerp…on Larry King Live, he went off about Bruno saying that Helio & Marie were the best dancers. Well, they are, Jonathan! Duh! And he thinks Marie is the most improved, but no she isn’t. If Donny is really going to be on DWTS next time, I will throw up.

What a laugh! Miss Popularity. Change the name of your show. She will have more PR the coming weeks to get sympathy from her age group. No other way can she win. Last night I turned the TV off as soon as the announcement was made she advanced. I will not be watching future shows. Sad.
