Maksim Chmerkovskiy: 'There Are a Lot of People Better Than Marie'

America’s favorite show is “Dancing” its way to the finish line, and only “Extra” has the all-new exclusive with the pro who’s stepping on plenty of toes!

Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Mel. B’s partner, is sounding off on why he thinks Marie Osmond doesn’t deserve to be in the finals.

Maks tells us of the final three, "I think Jennie was better than Marie. Frankly, I think there are a lot of other people better than Marie.”

When asked to predict who will win the coveted trophy, he says, “I’m hoping that it is Mel and I, but I’m not sure that is going to happen. History shows it’s either a cute man or somebody with a huge fan base and I think Marie has both Helio and Mel’s fan base combined times five.”

As for the sympathy vote playing in Marie Osmond’s favor, Maks says,“Yeah, I think she represents a lot of women out there with all their problems.”

He continues, “I know first hand that there are a lot of other celebrities on the show who went through somewhat similar situations this season and they decided not to make it public… we decided not to burden people with our personal issues. I think that is why our fan base carries us through because they vote for our dancing not whatever happens in our life.”

“Extra” has learned that more Marie drama will unfold in the ballroom tonight: All her children, which may include Michael, her young son currently in rehab, are expected to be in the audience.

Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough revealed they’ll have their own family cheering from the sidelines tonight.

“I have 14 brothers and sisters,” Julianne said. “I've got millions and millions of cousins and aunts and uncles!”

In a show where skin is in, Maks says that Mel B. is ready to show off her body.

“She's gonna be showing a lot of skin,” Maks reveals. “The most skin the show has ever seen!”

Maks also says the stage will have mattresses tonight to prevent any accidents.

“Mel is a very expensive entity for the show and for the Spice Girls and we don't want any accidents,” Maks says.

Who makes it safely to the end is anyone’s guess.

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba told “Extra,” “This season has been a rollercoaster ride to say the least. People who were in the lead have dropped; people who were at the bottom are at the top.”

Okay….here is the way it goes…..Marie used everything in the book to get people to vote for her!Age,fainting, her father’s death! That is tacky! It was bad enough to complain about age, but when you use your father’s passing as a media ploy…that’s just SICK! Maks is telling the truth,Marie should have went home long before she did.Anyone could see that the woman could NOT dance! The final should have been between Maks and Mel and Sabrina and Mark…..that would have been awesome to see. Those were the most talented of the group this year and you can not deny that!So Maks you just keep working it with your YUMMY little self and your fans will stay behind you!

Maks said it for all of his fans. Marie should have been off the show long before she was. She whined about everything from her age to her personal problems. She knew she was competing against younger people before she started the competetition. She should have been voted off instead of Sabrina. The final competition should have been between Sabrina and Mark, and Maks and Mel were the best of the dance couples.

Thank you Maks for telling the truth from your heart. Let’s see how Marie wouldv’e done if the whole state of Utah was not allowed to vote!

Hoorah for Maksim. Anyone in their right mind would agree with him, but up until now hasn’t said it. I love the show, but absolutely hated watching Marie continue to go farther than other competitors who were much more talented than she was. There is no question that she used whatever resources she could to help her gain votes. No one is claiming that she planned her fathers death, or the rehab thing, or even her fainting, but she and her brother sure played all of it up. It was sickening to listen to Donny on ET almost every night going on and on about how deserving his sister was to still be on the show. She was nowhere near where the other competitors were as far as dancing goes, and it was disappointing that even the judges seemed to be fooled by of all her antics. She knew full well that the only reason she got so far in the show was because of her fan base, but still repeatedly reminded everyone of her age, all of her personal life dramas, and even got snotty with the judges whenever she received a bad, but honest critique, while trying to play it off like she was joking. I was certainly happy that she didn’t make it into the final two, but disappointed that she had made it so far. The final three should have been Mel B, Helio, and Sabrina, but thats just not how it went. My only hope is that Donny declines to be on the show next season! I’m not sure if I can handle another season with an Osmond in it.

Marie Osmond personality was abrasive from the beginning. And got worst every week. I was shocked with they called her name to go home. I am happy for Helio. He was one of my first choices to be in the finals. Sabrina was the second. Mel B was great. I was ready for either one of them. I am glad she lost gracifully. Hopefully next season will be as exciting.

I totally agree with the comments Maxim made referring to Marie. She is beautiful, fun loving, well seemingly a wonderful person, and she came a long way with her dancing, however, they did let others go that were tons better than she! Also, Jane should have gone long before she did, most everyone can do the waltz!!lol
I know the public vote chooses the winners, however, that leaves me to ask….why the judges?? It seems to be based on the person who is most popular anyway. And all this time, I thought it was for the BEST dancers!
They need to change the name of the show!
Helio was great, and of course Julianne is unbelieveable, but ……I think Max and Mel should have taken it “hands down”. They “drew” you into the dances with them, they made every dance appear to be perfect! And, each dance was so unbelievably choregraphed! They had chemistry that was unreal!!
I think as Max said, why not have different age groups?
Well, Mel and Max should have had the award, and if Max quits the show, I am sure lots of viewers like myself will not be watching it anymore, don’t know about you other gals out there, but, if Maxim quits the show, with his absolutely wonderful dancing, fun loving personality, and not to mention his incredible looks! I will not be watching the show anymore! I might add, there are fantastic professionals on the show(not to take anything away with them).

Doll dance was kind of off but Marie alone did not make that decision. She did most dances with style and ellegance. She did not have to use alluring body language to have fun and enjoy what she was doing. helio was the same way.

For those still defending Marie from Maks’ comments after all this discussion and last night’s ragdoll debacle (making Britney’s VMA appearance look flawless by comparison), did you note two things that happened right after the dance ended?

1) The look on Donny’s face: he was so obviously appalled along with everyone else in the studio audience.

2) As soon as Len started giving his overly polite criticism, Marie cut him off to say “I’m not buying it,” as if she were being consistently singled out for negativity, when in fact the reverse has been true.

I have stated, I’ve always liked Marie. But it wouldn’t surprise me if in fact she has proven to be a difficult personality to those around her, what I would call “Shatnering” the set, if you know what I mean. So maybe we should just wait and see what truth comes out that perhaps Maks couldn’t hold back about any longer, and whether other first-hand opinions may ultimately back him up.

Don’t pull any punches in giving me your honest criticism of my observations, but wait a minute … I feel a faint coming on …

UUHHHNNN!

I am an out-of-shape older woman who has disliked Marie’s performances since day one of the show. Not all of us are stupid enough to fall for her antics. I voted for Mel and Mak.

Hurrah, Maks! Finally someone said what we’ve all been thinking! Maks didn’t “bash” Marie. He didn’t say anything negative about her. He said others were better dancers (undeniably true) not that she is a bad dancer, and that other celebs had personal problems too, but chose not to emphasize them.

And can I just say… Maks IS all that, and then some! Yummmmmmmmmy! Too bad he’s WAY too young for me! :)

Since people are bashing Max for making the comments he made about Marie, then how do you feel about Donnie on Larry King and Entertainment Tonight and the other shows always putting Marie up like she’s better than all the rest. He’s so biased and how can that be fair to the other contestants? In this country people should be able to express whatever they feel, and if Max feel that way (probably 99% of DWTS viewers feel this way, too). You didn’t hear some of the other older contestants who performed on DWTS complain about their age like Marie has done. So, she’s pushing 50! So what! She signed up for DWTS not to make wise cracks, disagree with professional judges, and make DWTS look pathetic each week. Mel B or Helio would be great choices to take home the prize tonight.

Maks is right on the money when he says the only truly technical dancer left is Mel B. The show has turned into a popularity contest instead of a dance competition. I think the voting process needs to be overhauled. Everyone should only be able to vote once a week either online or via phone, not 5 or 7 times each times 2. It’s a shame that older out-of-shape women who have issues just want somebody like Marie to win, as if she represents them. People need to understand that if they want the older out-of-shape dancer to win, that dancer needs to REALLY dance like the rest of them or it doesn’t represent anything except that she can’t dance. All she does is big phony smiles, facial expressions and gestures, and wobbles all over the dancefloor. I agree that public knowledge of her fathers death and son in rehab is getting her alot of sympathy votes, whether her intention or not, she has no dignity if she wants to win via that route. Her remark to give her a break because she had ‘like 3 days’ to learn it shows that she knows she can’t dance. It’s not that I don’t like Marie…she has a very likable show entertaining factor but this isn’t the Marie show. It’s a dance finale and only the BEST should be there. Sabrina is the only other person who should be in the final 3.

I praise Max for speaking the truth. It will be an insult to the public and all the previous celebs and pros on the program should Marie Osmond win. She is a poor dancer and she and her brother(s) have shamelessly promoted her. This tact changes the intent and image of the program. I think Dancing with Stars will lose its audience if Marie’s publicity machine creates a win for her.

Thank heavens someone finally had the guts to slam Marie and all her whining and gloating. She is horrible, should never had made the final, and even the judges have succumbed to her phoniness. If she wins, it will be a sham. Thank you Max for telling the TRUTH

I think he showed that he is childish and ignorant. For him to suggest that she has used her hardships to her advantage, did he think she planned her fathers death and for her son to be in rehab. Mel B is pushing her Spice girl tour (never understood their success) but she also used her baby’s daddy to make a name for herself over here. It’s suppose to be a celebrity dancing contest not the olympics or something so serious. lighten up, this country focuses on such stupid things like who wins Dancing with the Stars.

Marie made a mockery of this years
DWTS competition. She went public with
how immature and needy she is, at the cost of others, who genuinely wanted to do well. The Doll trick did not fool NE one.
