Kelly Ripa's working vacation in the Bahamas was briefly put on hold today after she suddenly fell ill during a live taping.

The daytime TV darling had to be escorted from the “Live! With Regis and Kelly” set during a commercial break and could not finish the show.

Regis Philbin and Kelly took their show to the Atlantis Resort this week. In a show that airs Thursday, Kelly and her sons, Joaquin and Michael, had enjoyed a day of swimming with the dolphins before her scare.

“Extra” was with Kelly as she swam when she joked that her wetsuit was too small.

“It was tight, and I started thinking I couldn’t breathe very well,” she said. “I really felt ill there for a while.”

Then, live on-air, Kelly was floored by an apparent flu emergency and the show had to go on without her.

“She had a little stomach flu, I gather,” said Regis. “I thought she was pretty brave to come out and try to finish the whole show, but under the sun and everything, I guess she got a little warm. So we’re expecting her back.”

Kelly is expected to return to TV tomorrow.
