Kanye West's mother, Donda West, died Saturday in Los Angeles following complications from surgery.

Donda's publicist said she passed away "as the result of complications from a cosmetic surgical procedure," but gave no further details.

Donda, 58, was a passionate supporter of her son's success. She was CEO of West Brands LLC and co-founder of the Kanye West Foundation. She recently released a book, "Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Superstar."
