Kanye West's mother, Donda West, died Saturday in Los Angeles following complications from surgery.
Donda's publicist said she passed away "as the result of complications from a cosmetic surgical procedure," but gave no further details.
Donda, 58, was a passionate supporter of her son's success. She was CEO of West Brands LLC and co-founder of the Kanye West Foundation. She recently released a book, "Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Superstar."

I will keep you lifted in prayer!!! When our brothers & sisters suffer, we ALL SUFFER… We as ‘christians’ should keep each other lifted in prayer. You must not have had the sad experience of losing a close loved one. If you had, then I doudt that you’d be using this time of bereavement to point the finger at Kanye West. If there is something he is doing that you don’t like-it’s your job as a ‘believer’ to pray for him and not point the finger. I don’t know you myself so maybe you live in that GLASS HOUSE that we all have heard about.. Maybe that’s how you are able to point the finger at him… MRogers2
Fellow Christian this is not the time or place for you to critize this man during his time of need. Be a Christian and pray for him and his family instead of critizing his walk with Christ. Just in case you didn’t know, Christ will judge us all in the end and I don’t think He would appreciate your actions as being an ambassador.
Sorry to hear about his mothers passing but now maybe he can really turn his life over to the lord instead of using His name to sell albums. Jesus is not to be played with and definately not to be used to make weaker christians think your are a real christian. Real christians walk with Jesus on a daily basis, is all we do. Not just to make money. Pray about it man.

to the family of ms. Donda west my heart goes out to the family Kanye losing a mother is the hardest thing in the world to me i just lost my mom to o recently september 29th 2007 negligence on the part of a chicago hospital and they wont even own up to it my mom would still be here today if it were not for them. they attempted to do a proceedure on her for her heart and while they had her on the table their equiptment stopped working. that didnt stop them . but they let my mother bleed so to the point thatt she suffered massive brain stroke behind it . the nurses never came to check on my mother atfer they stuck her back in her room in the hospital. and when they finally decided to go in to check on my mom she was found in a pool of blood. i hate people who just think they could make money off of hurting other people. i just want them to pay for what they did to my mom. i am not concerned with the money cause nothing will bring back my mom. and my family is feeling so much pain. its the holidays and just her not being here i miss my mother so much. i know god will give us strentgh and i will continue to pray for your family as well. love from a family that truly knows the hurt you feel. she walked in and never came out i still cannot believe my mom is gone.1 month ago i was able to talk to her and now i can never hear her voice again.r

To the West family: I know that this is definitely the hardest thing that you ever had to go through, but be encouraged and hold tight to God’s unchanging hand. He never makes mistakes and understand that there is indeed a blessing on the other side of through.
