Kanye West broke down in tears Saturday night during a concert in Paris and had to be consoled by bandmates on stage.

The heartbreaking moment came as Kanye attempted to sing “Hey Mama” at the end of his hour-long performance, but he could barely get through telling the crowd, “This song is for my mother.”

It was Kanye’s first appearance on stage since the death of his mom, Donda, last week.

Onlookers said it looked as if the rapper might collapse. Eventually, Kanye left the stage as the crowd of 5,000 applauded and called out to him in encouragement.

After about 15 minutes, Kanye finished the concert with an inspiring performance of “Stronger.”
