Donny Osmond Apologizes to Larry King

Larry King stunned guest Marie Osmond last week when he abruptly asked her about her 16-year-old son’s decision to enter rehab, leaving her to stammer, “Uh, how did you know that?”

Soon after, Marie’s famous brother Donny went on the defensive, blasting the talk show king for catching Marie off-guard.

However, Donny is now thanking Larry for making the secret public.

Donny tells the “Today” show that Marie didn’t know the tabloids were about to publish the story.

“In hindsight, Larry King did Marie a favor,” says Donny. “I’m grateful he gave Marie that platform, that opportunity, to speak worldwide about a problem she's going through.”

I think all you guys are totally correct. Marie is going through a very hard time with the loss of her father, George, and all the stress of being…MARIE OSMOND!
Her brother is the best thing in the world to her and loves his sister dearly I think that was a very kind gesture of him to say that…and APOLOGIZE!! DOUBLE WAMMY!

I think that Larry King was very rude for the sneeky way that he presented it to marie on his show. He should have informed her during a commercial break and given her the option of whether or not she wanted to talk about it especially when she was already an emotianal wreak over losing her father. SHAME on you Larry.

I think that Donny, like his sister, is a very classy human being for apologizing to Larry King and an overall good man. However, Donny, in my opinion had NOTHING to apologize for since his sister was ambushed. Even if Larry knew that the tabloids were going to run a story about Marie’s son, he should have told her offstage before they went on the air. Since Marie has not said why her son went into rehab, now the tabloids are going to speculate as to the reasons and Marie does not need this stress right now. However, Donny’s kind gesture to Larry shows that he has a good, moral character and that we can all learn a lesson about forgiveness from the Osmond family.
