Charlie: Battle with Denise an 'Unnecessary Circus'

Charlie Sheen has been able to keep very little private as his divorce and custody case with Denise Richards plays out in the public eye.

Now Charlie has come to “Extra” for his very first in-depth interview about that highly-publicized battle.

“I just know that sometimes when you’re given an opportunity to kind of set the record straight about things, it helps,” Charlie said.

For months Denise, 36, and Charlie, 41, have traded bitter accusations in their fight for custody over young daughters Sam and Lola. The “Two and a Half Men” star says it’s got to stop.

“I wasn’t going to say anything, but she continues to reveal what type of person and parent she is through her behavior,” Charlie said.

At one point, Denise insisted that her nannies be present during his visitations. Charlie fought back, accusing Denise of using the nannies as spies on his personal life.

“It’s just so unfortunate because what’s been lost in the entire, this ridiculous and unnecessary circus, is that the initial request was just to be able to hire my own nanny,” Charlie blasted. “That’s all I asked for and an extra weekend. Cut to two months later, this is what I’m forced to deal with.”

But life is settling down for Charlie. He’s engaged to Brooke Mueller and focusing on moving forward.

“We’re just dealing with what’s in front of us right now and getting through all this crap; getting back to our regularly scheduled life,” he said about more kids. “Then dealing with getting married and having our own family, which is exciting.”

Charlie joked, “You know they say this type of stuff builds character and all that, and what doesn’t kill us makes us bitter – I mean stronger.”

Tune into “Extra” on Monday, Nov. 5 for more with Charlie Sheen.

I am just worried what effect this is going to have on the two innocent girls.

I am pretty sure that they know about it, or have heard about it from someone because it is out there.

The girls should be the ones who need love, not arguing.

Both of you should stop, grow up, and live your lives separate.

You go Charlie, you deserve to see you chidren without Denise’s nannys. Why do you need a nanny anyway? If you want to be with your kids be with them. You say you have met a loving woman that you want to marry, let her help with the kids, she is going to have to get along with them later in life if you marry her and as young as your kids are now is the time to break in a new strp mom. forget the nannys and be a parent. Most fathers hold and play with their kids not hand them off to a nanny. So step Charlie and be a dad.

Charlie can’t erase the slanderous e-mails that were made public that he sent to Denise? One of them stated she was hog who needed to get a job or something pretty close to that. Denise is no angel either with the mud slinging back. Don’t they realize what all of this is doing to their girls?

I don’t understand. He’s the one still talking and he was the one who initially created the ”circus” as he calls it.

and why does he feel that the public need to have the record ”set straight”? He should be focusing on his children NOT explaining his opinions on the outcome of their court case to the general public.

He disgusts me. Shut up Charlie and get on with your work. You made such a song and dance about things and now want to continue it? BARF. I for one don’t need to know and don’t need to have your ”record straight”. Thanks

No kidding, Mr. Sheen!
I hope that divorce garbage of Mr. Sheen and Ms. Richards will become ancient history eventually.
