Janet Jackson is talking candidly about marriage with “Extra.”

At the premiere for her new film, “Why Did I Get Married,” Janet opened up about her relationship with longtime boyfriend Jermaine Dupri and the possibility of a trip down the aisle.

“I don’t need a piece of paper to validate what we have,” Janet said. “That’s just me though.”

If she and Dupri did decide to marry, Janet would take his last name. “Of course I would,” she insisted. “Isn’t that crazy? It’d be JD and JD!”

As for any marriage advice she has to offer, Jackson laughed, “Don’t ask me that question. You want to ask somebody who’s been married twice and divorced twice?”
