Britney to Perform at the American Music Awards?

Jimmy Kimmel set tongues wagging this morning when he announced that Britney Spears would be performing at the American Music Awards.

"A lot of you seem preoccupied with whether or not Britney Spears will be on the show. I'm here to announce today that she will," said Jimmy as the nominations for the ceremony were read.

But "Extra" tracked down the comedian to set the record straight, and he laughed off his announcement.

"There have been rumors that Britney Spears is going to perform, but I started those rumors so there's no truth to them necessarily," he admitted.

The ceremony airs in November.

I don’t care whatever or not Britney Spears is going to perform on the show, I’m not going to watch the annual event. It’s a waste of time. it’s just a worthless award show. It’s been years since I last saw “the American Music Awards.” why start now?

I hope she performs too, with a lot better luck this time than what she had on her last performance. Poor girl shoe-heel broke last time, which had to make it very hard for her to dance and keep up with her other dancer’s. GOOD LUCK BRIT!!
