Simon Cowell Defends Britney Spears

Britney Spears has one unlikely ally in her comeback struggle: Simon Cowell.

Mr. Nasty is telling “Extra” that he actually likes the troubled pop star – and that she might be making all the right moves!

“She’s all over the news, she gets more publicity that the entire Hot 100 combined, so maybe she’s doing everything right and everyone else is getting it wrong,” he confessed to “Extra.”

The “American Idol” judge also says folks should cut Britney some slack for what the pop star goes through.

He’s shrugging off her bizarre bathroom encounter with a paparazzo this week, in which she invited him inside, saying, “They follow her everywhere, so they might as well go into the loo with her.”

He admitted he’s standing up for Britney “a little bit,” adding, “I actually like her. I think she’s interesting.”

But there is one thing Simon would change for Britney.

About her single, “Gimme More,” Simon quipped, “Change the ‘more’ to ‘less.’”

What most people do not understand is Britney never had a chance to be a kid, she has always had to do performances and it has finally taken a toll on her mentally. I remember when I was her age I was doing drugs, drinking, partying and in college I am not saying that she is not to blame but I think she messed up when she married K-Fed and made other decisions. Nobody children are mistake. God put each and everyone of use on earth for a reason. No one knows what was going on in that house when she was married to K-Fed, even the bodyguard trying to get his cash handouts on Britney. If he was so concerned for the kids then why wait until the last minute to go public. Yes, I feel that Britney is going to have to decided on her part if she wants help or not and the media is not helping. In addition, Britney is going to have to take into consideration that its just not her anymore but sometimes you have to make a change for your kids. Whenever she figures out, I hope that it is not too late. This is the first time ever responding to an opinion poll. I had a friend that was going through the same thing Britney was and she waited too late. She lost her children the only two people that ever loved her and I do not want to see anyone else go through anything horrific as that. Britney I will keep you in my prayers and remember that,” we can do all things through Christ”.

Britney is having the last laugh y’all. Her single Gimme More will be the #1 song on Billboard’s Hot 100 this coming week. It’s #1 in sales. Its #1 on 13 top radio stations. It’s #1 in top club play in LA in NY clubs. Brit is #1 in most Internet searched artists on Yahoo. No doubt her CD in NOv will be #1. Do you think she cares about negative press???? NO!! She is feeding into it for publicity and laughing all the way to the bank. Rhinna? Fergie? Nelly Fertado? who? NO one is bigger right now that Britney Spears. NO ONE.

As I see it.. first 90% of the female population should look that good in a 2 piece outfit such as Brit wore on the vid mtv awards. Remember she has a 1 yrs old and 21/2 yr old.. She tried to get out of the performance, especially after they changed the # within a few hrs of her performing.. the special effects wouldn’t work right.. Also, she knew about Sarah Silverman’s nasty remarks before goin on. And sure her life has been alot of neg behaviour. She needs love, compassion, and some prayers to reach her with love.. In the 40’, 50’s etc people were more supportive when someone such as Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe, etc were going through difficult times.. now they just kick you down more in these days. :) I’m still supportive of you Britany .. you’ll show them… Whitney’s finally gettin it together too…

While I DO agree with Simon that she has gotten a lot of press, not so sure that all of it has been to her advantage. While I am sure that it probably will cause the curious to go buy her CD once it is available, my concern will continue to be for her children. She has had way too many close calls with her children in the car, at stores and restaurants, etc…

I really think that she needs to step back just a bit and regroup her life, get rid of all the “hangers on” type people in her life and start to just live for her childrens sake. And I REALLY think that she should take Simon and “company” up on the offer to help put her back on track… that, I feel, would be a VERY wise move on her part. jmho…..

Comeback?!?!?!?!?!? What comeback?!?!?!
Stick a fork in Britney Spears—-SHE’S WAY TOO OVERDONE!
She’s way past her prime, and it’s time she realizes that, and get the crap out of the spotlight.
I can’t stand her.

He was being severely sarcastic when he made that comment, so hopefully he’s not an ally of Britney Spears after all.
Can’t you folks at “Extra” realize when he’s sarcastic when he says something really sarcastic?!?!?!
Apparently not…….
