What Compelled O.J. Simpson to Write ‘If I Did It?’

The ghostwriter of O.J. Simpson’s disturbing “memoir,” “If I Did It,” is breaking his silence about why he helped write the book – and why Simpson wanted the story told.

Saying, “Sometimes the urge to confess is unconscious,” author and former journalist Pablo Fenjves explains in the second part of our exclusive interview why Simpson may have wanted to thrust himself back into the spotlight.

“There are several possibilities for why he wrote the book: one of them would be money, the other one would be attention, and the third would be confessing,” says Fenjves.

But why did Fenjves himself take on such a disturbing – and controversial – task?

“Maybe he does want to confess,” says Fenjves. “So for me, to be given the opportunity to sit in a room with a man I believe to be a double-murderer, and to be given an opportunity to listen to him confess, even if it was a rather bizarre version of a confession…as a journalist…it was too compelling to pass up.”

Criminal celebs stay busy with projects…. Looks like OJ’s not the only one. Tom Sizemore has got a new movie coming out on Tuesday, Sept 25th… Which movie is it? I heard Sizemore’s behaviors in the film are not unlike his real life situations; he’s frequently under the influence and slaps a woman! Tell me more about him and the movie, ET!

I believe it is a highly lucid work, by an excellent reporter. People are missing the main point , that the book is fascinating, interesting and hard to put down. No thriller I read can compare with it. And t is true, from the geginning to the end. So Three cheers for the author.

This guy is not being forth right. Why in the world are people trying to belive O.J. is a total fool? With the various vigilantes luring in the U.S. why would any black man confess to killing two whitge people? C,mon people,..this is just a case of capitalism at work. E verybody is making money off O.J. except O.J., and I’m happy that he didn’t pay any dope bills!

This still does not answer my question of where the idea came from in the first place to write about how I might have slaughtered two human beings like pigs.
I mean, I remember when I first heard the idea several years ago I was stunned, but time has a way of making your mind tempered, especially when you hear the information over and over. Fenjves looks weird, and I wonder how well Simpson knew him when he lived next door to Nicole??

Place a picture of Owen Wilson next to this guy and you might see an amazing resemblance. He looks to me like Owen’s long lost brother!!
