Kanye West on Britney: 'She Wasn't In Her Right Mind'

“Extra” was with Kanye West at New York’s Fashion Week, where he talked about this weekend's controversial MTV VMAs.

When asked about Britney’s performance, West said, “She wasn’t in her right mind. She wasn’t in a good place, and she allowed them to exploit her for the ratings. I just don’t agree with the way they’re doing it right now.”

When "Extra" asked if he was done with MTV, as he has hinted, he said, "Yeah."

Brit’s comeback was exactly as it should be: Real and Genuine. Her so called “lack of talent” is a demonstration of what she’s been doing with her time: MOTHERHOOD and self preservation. Just the fact that she was on the stage shows that she’s trying to take care of herself and her children the way she knows how to. I’m glad to see that her performance was unpolished because motherhood doesn’t leave you time to practice because you’re focused on your children and making a life for yourself and for them. Sure, she’s not perfect but neither am I, and neither are you. Her bra and panty outfit vulnerably showed off the great figure she still has after kids. Any mother would love a figure like that. Now I’d like to see Britney focus on her children and on her motherhood and write/release songs about the deep feelings that come in seeing your little one look up into your eyes with love and admiration. Best of luck Brit. From a fellow Momma. PS Put on “pretty” clothes next, and forget about the “sexy” outfits. You’re far more attractive when you’re pretty.

Why is he still giving an opinion? They didn’t let him open….get over it already! He wasn’t even out..back in Britney’s heyday.

MTV exploited Britney? Oh, please! The woman is NOT a victim here. Britney had an opportunity that she blew. If you want to blame somebody, blame the drugs and late night partying. Grow up and take responsibility!

kanye was right: mtv exploited britney. she wasn’t ready, but mtv knew that whether she performed well or not it would draw ratings. this will hurt mtv in the long run.

I THINK THE WAY SHE WAS SEEN AS AN INADEQUATE PERFORMER WAS BAD. IF SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER PREPARED SHE WOULD HAVE MADE A COMBACK, NOW SILVERF@#$%$%MAN SHOULD HAVE NEVER SAID OR MENTIONED HER CHILDREN THEY DONT HAVE ANY FAULT IN THIS ISSUE. THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IS CRUEL TO JUDGE SO THEY’LL BE JUDGE FOR DOING SO. SHAME ON MTV JUST TO PICK UP A FEW RATINGS!!!!
