Jane Seymour on Owen Wilson: 'I Knew He Had a Problem'

Jane Seymour is telling "Extra" she was aware of Owen Wilson's demons before his tragic suicide attempt two weeks ago.

"I knew that he had a problem in the past," Jane said. "He has an amazingly wonderful family. He has a really tight family, and I am sure they will get him through this."

Jane co-starred with Owen in "Wedding Crashers."

I do not know if Owen reads these or not but I really hope he does. Owen, I am a 71yr. old senior and I believe I have seen everyone of your movies. I simply adore you young man. You have a very special talent of making other people feed good. I am so sorry life threw you a curve. But, I believe this is going to make you a better person in a long run. Sometime it takes that “curve” to help people to see just how important life is. You have your family, you have your fans and now you need yourself, behind you. Don’t ever give up, keep going, and you’ll eventually find the answer. I promise you that. I will pray for you as I know all your fans and colleagues are that you will be back with us soon well and very happy. Love ya……….

It amazes me when people think that if only his friends and family had been more aware, had done more, had been there for him….then this would’nt have happened……a lot of very depressed people do a very good job of hiding their depression, at least the extent of it, others are often not aware of just how bad it is, no matter how much they care…and even if you are aware of the extent of it there is’nt a lot you can do to protect someone from themselves.

I agree in the fact that Jane Seymour and other co-workers and celebrities could have done some kind of intervention for Owen or at least stop being an enabler. If his family is so close, then I guess I don’t understand how they could have missed this coming or done something to intervene. This was a well kept secret from his fans—but I sincerely hope he is getting some professional intervention.

Talking addicts out of using isn’t that easy, The best you can hope for is that they tell you what you want to hear.

I can’t pretend to know what you’re going through personally; everyones battle is different. However, I know many times when I had a case of the blues, it was watching one of your performances that would cheer me up and make me feel better, and I’m sure I’m not alone on that one. You have a light inside you that is way too bright to give up on.

I hope he is told that it’s very difficult for doctors/people to determine the right medicine to help Owen get better. It has to do with peoples individual body chemistry. It’s taken me almost twenty years fighting this disease, fighting to be happy and I’ve finally found a medicine that works. Fight Owen, life’s too short to be unhappy someday those demons(it’s more body chemistry mixed with bad life occurences we all go thru, sometimes not), as they call them can go away or at least be well managed so you can live a more satisfying life.
