CBS Reacts to Dan Rather's $70 Million Lawsuit

Commenting on the $70 million lawsuit that Dan Rather filed against CBS, a rep for the network told “Extra” that, “These complaints are old news and this lawsuit is without merit.”

Rather claimed the network used him as a "scapegoat" for a discredited story about President Bush's National Guard service.

Dan Rather’s $70 Million dollar lawsuit may be a little steep, but I’m glad that he’s standing up against CBS for making him into a scapgoat.

Why was this an issue anyway. Presidents in the past have had false statements made about them and they don’t behave like a spoiled brat. If an apology was made they get on with the business of the Nation. Why is this such a blowen up situation. I feel Dan Rather has the right to be angry. I know I would.

Dan WAS scapegoated here. All the main stream media got it wrong about the WMD’s and other aspects of the Iraq war. Who is being held accountable for that ?
