MTV Confirms Worst-Kept Secret in Hollywood: Britney to Perform at VMAs

Britney Spears has now been officially tapped to open Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards.

MTV announced today that Britney will open the show with her single "Gimme More," her first studio effort in four years.

She'll also incorporate elements from rumored boy-toy Criss Angel's "Mindfreak" shows, which may include mirrors.

MTV cited Britney's "great history" with the VMAs, which includes dancing with a giant snake and kissing Madonna, and they promised that Britney will start the show "in a very big and dramatic way" and fans won't be disappointed.

Today, rapper and performer LL Cool J gave "Extra" his tips for Britney's comeback when we caught up with him in New York City.

He said, "If she makes some music that's more interesting than her personal life, that'll solve the problem."

MTV made a big deal about britney performance.It was disgusting and she could have stay home.If you are going to do a comeback make sure that you going to perform 150%.She can do better and I hope this is not the last time we see her.She have the power to command the stage.Let go of the crap and move forward and come back strong.Miss britney you still have fans everybody fall the key is not to let them see you slip.

Im so happy for Britney Spears. Im a huge fan of hers. She needs her life back. people are not suppose to really be up on her life. POEPLE GIVE HER SOME AIR. Shes just as normal as everybody eles. I was lisening to 104.7 today and they believe all the dumb crap about britney like she walks around naked and opens the door naked. They do not have proof of that. There always taking pictures of her and sean,jayden at her house. PROOF.
