Britney's Comeback Performance Bombs

Britney Spears’ highly anticipated “comeback” performance at the MTV Video Music Awards came to a screeching halt last night with a nervous and awkward performance by the once princess of pop.

Britney opened the show with her single “Gimme More,” but she appeared out of sync with her backup dancers and uncomfortable in her sparkly black bra and knee-high boots.

There was no sign of “Mind Freak” Criss Angel or his routine, as was promised by MTV last week. When officials from MTV made the official announcement that Britney would open the show, they promised her performance would kick off “in a very big and dramatic way.”

Instead, disappointed fans watched Britney move sluggishly and uncomfortably across the stage, flanked by her scantily-clad dancers.

There was no sign of her signature flashy choreography and jaw-dropping publicity stunts.

She appeared to lip-sync through the song, which is catchy enough and gaining some air-play, but her lack of choreography made it apparent that Brit was simply playing along.

Britney’s lackluster performance seemed to shock the audience, as cameras cut to stunned stars like Rihanna and 50 Cent.

Immediately after the performance, host Sarah Silverman took some major swipes at the star.

She sniped, “Was that incredible? Britney Spears, everyone. Wow. She is amazing. She is 25 years old and she's already accomplished everything she's going to accomplish in her life. It's mind blowing."

Later Silverman attacked Britney’s widely-publicized personal life, saying sons Sean Preston and Jayden James are “the most adorable mistakes you will ever see.”

But today, "Extra" is giving Britney a second chance at a comeback.

We have officially offered her a chance to perform at the "Extra" Lounge and show the world what she's got.

The deal is on the table, and "Extra" is waiting on a response.

Hey guys hold up!!

Give the kid a break…how can anyone who is sick make any real decisions… I personally feel she is suffering from post natal depression after having two kids so fast and with that bad thing called a husband..I saw the writing on wall from the minute he came on the scene, unfortunately for most of us it is only with age and experience we can see these things from the outset and as we are not a part of it we can criticise and laugh at this young girl…any of the people around her could have told her that a man who is prepared to leave a woman who is pregnant with his child can’t be any good.. but no they loved all the publicity the whole drama brought and the money with it… she was used and abused by all around her including her parents, agents and the idiot Kevin. At this point it is clear to see it she can barely take care of herself let alone two kids right now and I hope there is at least one person around her who loves her enough to stop this merry go round and help her to get her life back on track.

I know she is not the most amazing artist out there vocally but she does have a nice stage presence and performs in her genre really well and some of her songs and videos have been nice memorable fun tunes to listen/watch e.g ‘Toxic’ and there are a lot worse artists in the past and to come…I personally can’t wait for her to be well again and give the world the pleasure she has in the past and divorce herself from all those idiots around her… Good Luck Brit and please get well soon..show them the old you again… and please think twice before hooking up with some gold digging loser… men like KFed will get your money and will still end up in the newspapers being famous for nothing but he will still end up broke and probably end up blaming you rather than acknowleging his own lack of integrity and greed.. you know easy come easy go… no point throwing any more of your hard earned cash after losers like him again..

How many artists would give everything for a shot to be an openning act for anything?

Britney fans, grow up. Unless she’s totally clueless, she knew what was at stake and she bombed it. Plain and simple.
Is her music career over? Well no… she made headlines…for all the wrong reasons but you can only go so far down that path.

Symphatize with Britney… why?
Feel sorry?…she made millions…rest my case.

I think that it’s sad that someone can’t sing or perform or live her life without people JUDGING her. It’s sad that people spend their time putting someone down. What has the world and people’s morals come to that everyone has to judge and talk bad about others? You think she’s fat…she’s had two children..I think she looks pretty good for that. I’ve never been a huge Britney fan, but no matter who it is I think it’s extremely sad that everyone is obsessed with putting her down..maybe that’s why she has problems feeling comfortable in her own skin. God Bless everyone whos negative and judges others.

You cant do anything but feel bad for Britney anymore. She just has a mess up after another mess up. I really dont think even if she was in shape…didnt lip synce and did a great job at the VMA’s her career would pick up. She has messed up to much for anyone to really trust her and no we are intrested in her to see what she will do wrong…not what she does right!

I didn’t actually saw the VMA awards, but I saw Britney Spears’ meltdown on TMZ, Extra, Inside Edition and Access Hollywood. All four show that I watched. It seems to me that the way Britney was acting, she didn’t want to be there. She spent too much time partying and not enough time getting ready for her comeback. She is out of sync with the dancers and she acted like a stripper on a bad night. To me she is lost on stage. Another bad moment in the history of bad moments for Britney. And 2007 isn’t over yet.

Please tell Britney her career is over or she needs to attend counseling. That performance sucked big time. I believe it’s time she found a new career since she can’t get it together with this one. Maybe she should think about dopping out of sight and raise her kids properly.

OK, I have personally had enough. This girl has risen to the top, then crashed to the bottom. I personally believe that while we all joke about how bad she really is and always was, she is probably plotting her own death. She unfortunately will more than likely be dead in about 6 months as a result of all this BAD publicity. She is a trainwreck, and until she is dropped from the public eye and has a real chance to air-out her life, all of this bad attention will probably take her down the same path as Anna-Nicole.
