Star Jones: I Needed Therapy After Being Fired from 'The View'

Star Jones is revealing exclusively to “Extra” that she went into therapy after being fired from “The View.”

“Sometimes a little kick in the butt is exactly what you need to take some stock of your own life, and that’s what I did,” the former host explained.

Now, as Star returns to television with a daytime show, she says she feels like a different person.

“I’d always been taught that showing weakness was a sign that somebody could take advantage of you, when in reality, showing weakness shows strength,” she said.

But in a startlingly candid sit-down, Star admitted she still hasn’t patched up her bitter year-long feud with Barbara Walters.

“We’ve not spoken since the day I left,” she said. “There were hurt feelings, and I understand that. But you know what? Everybody has moved on.”

Star also revealed why it took her so long to publicly admit to gastric bypass surgery, a procedure that allowed her to lose a shocking amount of weight.

“I was too ashamed to admit it,” she confessed. “Too scared that people would judge me; too insecure to say all of that big, loud talk was not the real Star.”

But the feisty 45-year-old TV personality insists she’ll never discuss her 4-year marriage to banker Al Reynolds or address persistent rumors that it’s in trouble.

“It is extremely private,” she blasted. “I will protect it at all costs, because it’s the most precious thing to me.”

She continued, “Starlet Jones Reynolds, the person belongs to Mr. Reynolds, as he belongs to me.”

To say that Star Jones is full of crap, is harsh but true. She’s phony alright. But I guess it’s politically correct-by Hollywood standards-to say things you really don’t mean. How else can you explain her supposedly genuinely wishing all the women on The View the best, when she obviously still harbors ill feelings toward Barbara Walters (whom she has’nt spoken to since leaving the show last year).
And then wanting to get Rosie O’Donnell on her new show to dish about the circumstances under which she abruptly left.
Lastly, of course observe the legal jargon-double talk out of both sides of her mouth. First she says she didfn’t reveal how she lost the weight because she feared for the health of others who she felt might emulate her actions. Get real! Al Roker and Carnie Wilson, both made it publically known they were having the surgery. So, now she wants to add she was ashamed and embarassed, which is it Star? Better go back and consult with your image consultant, whom no doubt advised you to ‘fess up in the first place.

Isn’t her 15 minutes up yet? Star has a lawyers perspective of the truth and it shows in everything she says. I can’t believe she has any fans and I wish she would shut up if she can’t just go away.

Notice how she talks about herself endlesssly. I have no plans to watch her show, because I’ve heard way too much about this overly vain and self-centered egomaniac already. Another talk show, whatever.

star needs to shut up and work…stay off of larry king (hint hint: he is a close friend of barbara walters)…the last time you were on the show he almost yawned in your face…stop wearing the revealing clothes..dress conservatively and get rid of that hungry look…it is nobody’s business that you had therapy and as for your husband when you say it is private we all know you are hurting..find you an ugly good man and be happy..leave the pretty boys to other pretty boys!

I wish Star the best of luck. She did not deserve the treatment she received and still receives. Whatever medical procedure she had is not and never was any business of ours.

As a guy, I have a positive view of Star. The public is not as critical of Star as the press. People who improve themselves should be admired. Geez, how many people could work on the View with that pack of critical, albeit talented, jerks and not get mauled? Good luck, Star!

WHATEVER!!! Now that she had a show, she knew about coming out about her Gastric Bypass. I wonder what was the big deal about having a surgery for someone that was so overweight like her. She knew better than telling people that she lost the weight throuh medical intervention. Medical invention nonsenses. Had it been she was upfront, all these wouldn’t have happened to her. STAR JONES IS FULL OR CRAP. All these nonsenses that she is talking about been scared, ashamed to come upfront about her surgery is all nonsense and front. She is just saying all those rubbish nonsense to get sympathy and get people to watch her new show. STAR JONES IS THE MOST SELF-CENTRED,ARROGANT, COLD AND VERY CALCULATING. ALL THESE EXCUSES IS JUST A FRONT TO GAIN VIEWERS FOR HER NEW SHOW. GET OVER IT STAR, NO ONE CARES SO MUCH ABOUT YOUR NONSENSE NEW SHOW SINCE YOU DISAPPOINTED US ON THE VIEW.

I am and will always be insipired by Star Jones. It takes a big person to admit where they were wrong and had to take stock of their lives. However as the public we need to understand that celebs are people like the rest of us and their privacy is to be respected also. Continue to shine Star.
